Brain Teasers
Dog Dilemma
Shalom had parked his car under a tree and was heading toward the suspect's house when a vicious dog lunged at him. Luckily for Shalom he was just beyond the dog's reach. Since the suspect wasn't home, Shalom decided to leave, but he had a slight problem. The dog, straining at the end of his chain, was following Shalom's every move. With the chain attached to the tree, the dog had access to both car doors. How could Shalom get into his car without the dog being able to reach him?
Answer
Since the dog was following every move he made, Shalom began circling the tree, with the dog right behind him. After several revolutions the chain became shorter, and consequently, the dog no longer had access to both car doors.Hide Answer Show Answer

I got the answer rite but if the chain was in a cicle around the tree it would not make a difference
yes it would. as the chain wrapped it gets shorter. like tying a piece of string around ur finger. the more wraps u make the shorter it gets.
I think brains was saying if the chain was loose around the trunk it might just circle around the tree with the dog never getting shorter.
My guess was that he was able to go through the trunk (or boot), as most cars these days have trunk access to the cabin (ie, pull a lever and the entire seatback folds down, at least, my old accord did); also works if it's a hatchback, minivan, or suv. my mr2, on the other hand... your way works too =)
Pretty easy.
