Brain Teasers
Hole in the Head
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
A man is lying dead on the front porch of his best friend's house. There is a large hole in the top of the man's head, yet there is little blood around. When he was discovered, there was nothing around to indicate what caused the injury.
He was not murdered. What happened?
He was not murdered. What happened?
Hint
This would more likely have happened in Greenland than Mexico.Answer
A large icicle broke off of the roof when the man knocked on the door. It fell and left a gaping hole in the mans head. The icicle inhibited the bleeding from the man's wound, then melted and disappeared.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

A little more info would be useful. Like it was cold! I thought the man was in Miami!
I knew that one. It was really easy.

The hint made it kind of obvious.
it states there is nothing around to indicate what cause the injury.......what happened to the puddle of water from the melting icicle?
2 things the water could have evaporated. and u mixed up the names. it should be greenland becuz greenland is covered in ice. iceland is really green. and dont ask y the discovers named em that cuz i dont kno.
well i wouldn't like to visit it, whatever its called.
Whomever wrote this riddle must not know alot about geography. Iceland is not a land of ice. When discovered the explorers named it Iceland because they didnt think anyone would come with a name of such. They named Greenland just that so people would come and be fooled to find it is ice. Next time you use everyday information make sure it is correct.
Actually, when Greenland was discovered, they thought it would be green at another time in the year, or thought it had potential to be green.
So it's more likely to happen in the grassy plains than in the hot desertish places? Let's weigh the odds...
So.. if the blood went into the icicle, then when the icicle melted, wouldn't the water be reddish?
Hmmmm
i dont get that. wouldnt the water be red?? or it still be there?
Wow, very good!
