Brain Teasers
Five Of A Kind
The first is needed to make quotes you see,
And it often sticks up when it's time for noon tea.
The second's biggest distinction is found
Bearing the symbol of love that is bound.
The third should be biggest but that can depend,
Never standing alone or it may offend.
The fourth is oft used when making a selection
Or if you should need a gun for protection.
The fifth is the fattest and oddest by far,
And can sometimes be found in a wrestling war.
What are they?

Hint
A hint would just be handing it to you.Answer
The digits of the hand! (The order on the poem is pinky, ring finger, middle finger, index or pointer finger, and thumb)The pinky hits the quotation mark key on the keyboard when typing, and people often raise their pinky off the cup when drinking tea. The ring finger bears a wedding band when married. The middle finger is an obscene gesture when standing alone. You point with the index finger to make a selection, or use it to pull the trigger on a gun. The thumb can be used for thumb wrestling.

I like this one. At first, I thought it was talking about letters, then I caught on after I read the "noon tea" bit again.
Very nice work and keep them coming!
Very nice work and keep them coming!
Great one. Kinda easy, but that's fine with me!
Great! The first few verses I was like 'wha...' but then got it pretty quickly once I put it all together. Good job!
Aargh. I just couldn't figure it out. Then I read the answer, and felt like an ee-diot. Oh well. Lol! I'm sure I'm not the only one who was stumped! Good teaser!
Your riddle is very cleverly written and FUN!
Brilliant! Nice teaser!

I figured it out immediately. Good teaser, very well written, enjoyable to read.
i will not be so pretentious as to give advice on what should have been or how easy or hard it was, ppl like that are so rude.
very nice teaser and i actually got it right.
very nice teaser and i actually got it right.
verynice.thank you ..the last couple of teasers have ben pretty lame..
I hate to admit it, but confession is good for the soul. It was the reference to the middle finger that gave it away for me.....and I'm a seminary student!!!!!
Awesome! I got it! So much fun!
Delightful. At first I thought various types of punctuation might be meant, but that didn't work out, then the hint made everything clear.
You got me!!
Finally a decent teaser.Everybody thinks I"m negative but I give credit when credit is due.
Excellent wording...maybe would have been harder with "4 of a kind"..leave out the thumb...but well done!!
most people don't use their thumb when typing so the pinky would be on the ;: key but pretty good
Fantastic and clever!
your pinky may rest on the ; key, but you use it to hit the ' key
Thanks Menz! I got it without the hint, I knew about the pinky sticking out when you use a CHINA Cup.. Tiny handles. I USE MY THUMB "on the space bar" WHEN TYPING, I read a couple further & figured it must be the 5 digits.
LOL Great teaser!!
This was pretty awesome! I got it after I read the part about the thumb. At first when I read about the pinky, and tea at noon, I was thinking about the lont hand on a clock, then the rest didn't make sense. But I got it! I am victorious! GO ME!!! (and all others who got it )
A highly clever, yet brilliantly worded teaser! Interestingly fun, too! Keep up the Awesome work! Easy, but quite fun to think out!
A very fine teaser indeed!
I got it at the thumb thingymigiger
I got it right away, so it must have been easy. But I thought it was very well done. Keep them coming. Thanks

When I read this is was tapping my fingers on the table...so that kinda gave me the answer
Little easy, but I really liked the wording

Pft! The pinky hint doesn't work if you're typing on Dvorak. See? Pinky = -. Well, maybe it kind of does. For those who know Dvorak.
Also, I thought this was referring to punctuation marks. You Nazi.

i dont know why, it just came to me

Excellent!!
I give this one a high 5!! Clever..well presented..and not too hard
Brilliant! Fantastic riddle!! I will share this with my kids. Well done!
I loved this one because I got it right!
I got it ... BUt at first the fingers seemed backwards
Ok, this is by far my favorite teaser! I didn't get it though; thought it was the 5 senses...don't ask me why...
I actually got it!!!!! YAY!!! I loved it!
Nice job. A little easy, but fun.
I got it after the first 2 clues, I'm so clever!
What a cute riddle!! The "standing alone, or it may offend" gave it away for me... but I had to read everything over again to be sure, and found it very well written! And now, it's high time I raised my pinky finger and had some tea!! It's nasty chilly here today, and tea sounds wonderful~!
What a great teaser. I wish they were all this good!
Great teaser. I enjoyed trying to solve this one.
I don't know if its an American pronunciation thing, but where I come from 'war' and 'far' don't rhyme. Perhaps you could have used the word 'spar' instead.

Never saw the hint. The early line about tea gave me the pinkie, coupled with the reference to 5 in the title, gave me the fingers of the hand. But I enjoyed seeing how the remaining lines fell into place! Even though extremely easy, very cute!!
Delightful teaser; thanks. And worth repeating - before anyone complains about that!!!
Took a minute , but i got it . great teaser,
I was brain dead for about a minute, but another sip of coffee woke me up and I solved it then. Good one.
Fun teaser
Very clever.
Soo easy, but very clever and well written. Cheers.

Thanks for teaching me a new offensive gesture! LOL
Nice teaser. What if my index finger is taller than the ring finger?
Easiest one yet. Did not even have to read it over the second time. That is okay I have said it before that I like easy!!
I liked this one, too. Have a great weekend everyone!
Easy but fun. Really enjoyed this one.
Fun but really easy. Didn't get the first one, though.
Got it right after reading the last paragraph. And then I understood the hint. "...would just be HANDING it to you." Fun teaser though!
The "Making quotes" puzzled me, as I was thinking of holding up both hands and using the index and middle fingers to draw quote marks in the air. Then I read the next line about drinking tea and immediately knew the answer. It wasn't until I read the explanation that I understood the "making quotes" part! (and I do it all the time!) Easy, but FUN quiz!
Good one! I too was a bit confused by the "making quotes" part. I was thinking about making "air quotes," and eventually just assumed that the author is from a different part of the world where air quotes are done with pinkies! But yeah, I don't even type the "proper" way, so I don't think I ever use my pinky in typing.
Fun! Fun! Fun! I got it, right away. Middle fingers to all!! ;)
Very nicely written, and also very easy, thanks!
I got the pinky, middle and thumb, but that was all Anyways, great teaser!
Still fun! ☺️
Far too easy, but I guess that's a good thing on 4/20!
Fun, easy and entertaining teaser; I got this one very quickly.
"Handing it to you..." Lol I got it from the 'noon tea; reference; but the hint was funny. Thanks for posting!
The hint is well made.
