Winging It
Logic-Grid
Logic Grid puzzles come with a handy interactive grid that will help you solve the puzzle based on the given clues.Logic-Grid
On separate days, five pairs of travellers boarded different airlines to fly to various towns in several kinds of weather. Who accompanied whom, etc., can be discovered by following the clues below.
MEN: Rainbeau, Aerofoot, Sonchine,
Malgum, Milldue
WOMEN: Gleebie, Sunline, Thymelie,
Marriyette, Flourbud
AIRLINES: Fleefly Flights, Skysters,
Wingdom Ways, Airflue Airtimes,
Taxiecloud Hops
WEATHER: sunny day, rainy day,
foggy day, clear night, rainy night
DESTINATIONS: Square Lakes, Townton, Cityville, Shortview, Los Purses
CLUES:
1. Sonchine, accompanied by his daughter, enjoyed, as passengers often do, a sense of spacious solitude above the fog. In contrast, Sunline was fascinated by her overhead view of the night lights of Cityville. She did not, on this occasion, fly with her usual travelling companion, Marriyette.
2. On the first day they met, Rainbeau and Flourbud embarked on a Fleefly Flights plane, and it was sunny all the way to their destination. Fleefly Flights does not schedule flights to Los Purses.
3. Airflue Airtimes, the only airline that services Townton, had to fly on a rainy day; but, even worse luck, Skysters had to negotiate a rainy-night landing in Los Purses.
4. Taxiecloud Hops, not a fly-by-night company, schedules long flights to Gleebie's destination, Shortview.
5. Milldue flew with his business partner, Aerofoot. They flew at night so that they could be at an early-morning meeting. They did not mind the rain.

oo first comment! lol, nice teaser, it took me a bit to solve but that was just because your clues were so good!
borrrrriiiing is what my mom would say if she watched a boring show.I say this was up there in the unboring section great logic grid things i enjoyed solving and cracking the code!!!
That was fun, and a perfect challenge! I like the rather obscure names too!
Keep 'em coming!
Keep 'em coming!
Nice job, took me a while, but I am getting better at these. More please.
A very enjoyable teaser. The names were great! Keep them coming!
Isn't it possible that Sunline could have been traveling with Thymelie and Marryette with Malgum?
Maybe I'm just crazy today.
Loved the teaser!

Loved the teaser!
I got the answer just fine with the clues provided. Sunline had to be traveling on a clear night to see the city's lights clearly.
There isn't a unique answer here. Malgum and Thymelie could be exchanged, as no information was provided for either of them.
By using the grid, the process of elimination determines their share of the answer.
Not everyone uses the grid. You should be able to get a unique solution just from the clues.
This teaser was written just for "Logic-Grid."
Part of the challenge of this teaser is realizing that some pairings are not man/woman as it appears from the setup. This is actually a good twist to the teaser. However, getting the proper groupings off the grid would be considered "cheating" by any true logic grid fan. I believe that these teasers should be solvable without having to look at the grid. I'll get off the soapbox now and hope that you'll consider my comments in future teasers, rather than just defending this one.
The same logic is used with or without the grid, but if your logic isn't good enough, the answer is easier to see with the grid! Please stop whining!
I am not whining, sir, I am attempting to offer constructive criticism. It's a pity you don't want any and prefer to insult people instead.
I found that your using the word "cheating" in association with my teaser to be quite insulting!
I don't understand why you would be insulted that some people don't want to peek at something that gives away part of the answer.
That was not my comment. I commented on the word "cheating." I have not been a cheater since early childhood. Furthermore, I like the Grid in "Logic-Grid," and I like this teaser just the way it is.
I did not accuse you of cheating. I am trying to show you that your teaser, as written, forces others to cheat THEMSELVES of the pleasure of a good puzzle, by requiring them to look at where names are placed in the grid. I liked the teaser too, EXCEPT for the fact that it can't be completed without looking at the grid.
All the information needed is in the clues; if that were not so, then the grid would not work. You are asking me to make the teaser easier. I am trying to make them difficult, but, according to the ratings, I have not yet succeeded.
I am not telling you to make the teaser easier; far from it. You are missing my point. Thymelie and Malgum are not mentioned in the clues at all. Therefore, Thymelie and Malgum could be exchanged in the grid and nothing else in the solution would change. That means there are 2 possible answers based on the clues, and ONLY the position of the names in the grid provides a single solution. People who use the grid will find a unique solution; people who don't use the grid won't.
If you don't believe me, draw the grid on a piece of paper, leaving out the names of Thymelie and Malgum. You'll solve the grid from the clues and see that you could put any names there and make it "work".
Noted and appreciated! Thank you for the explanation. I don't know yet how I will manage that in the future, but if I am able to think up another teaser during this lifetime, I will bear that in mind. I don't know what caused me to close my mind to your comments, but I do apologise for it.
Apology accepted.
nice teaser.
I think I might be getting better at these. This still seemed "difficult" but I managed to solve it rather quickly.
Good job chaskey!
