freaky!
There is nothing freaky about it. If x is the number you pick, you double it to get 2x, add 10 to get 2x + 10, half it to get x + 5, and then subtract the original number to get 5. The way it is worded makes it sound more complicated than it is.
Are these not the type of tricks that amaze only 3 year olds?
good one!!
missjinks... you use a computer remarkably well for a child of three...

not much of a teaser, really, is it?
Where is the brain teaser? or did I miss something?
It's too confusing, I didn't know what number to add to what, I just didn't get it.
Brain teasers are something that you have to figure out, what exactly do you have to figure out here? You just come up with a number and are supposed to be utterly amazed by a simple math trick.
That's not a brain teaser...
wow...i hadn't heard that one in at least ten years...
what if you hoose a really big number like 1001?
If you want to confound us give us a trick.
that doesnt count as a brAin teaser
Nice! And yes, it does count. Cool.
That maybe is in the wrong category, maybe not, I don't know. But is it ace anyway! wELL DONE.
This is very easy to work out.
First, multiplying your number by 2 has no effect whatsoever as you divide it by 2 later in the teaser - that cancels themselves out.
The 10 added is the only extra thing, so once that is divided by 2 it will always total 5.

Using that same strategy, I could make another teaser easy as...
Take any number in the world, multiply it by 12373, add 12373 to your number, divide it by 12373, then subtract your original number.
Your answer was 1! Surprise surprise.

It's all in the inverse...although I still fail to see this in a "teaser" light.
Really great teaser.
Hmph don't like all those bad comments
Nice job! Fairly easy but good one

-5+-5=-10
-10+10=0
0/2=0
0-(-1)=1 not 5
