### Brain Teasers

# A, B, C, D, E

Series
Series teasers are where you try to complete the sequence of a series of letters, numbers or objects.

Can you figure out what number comes next?

2, 14, 3, 32, 10, ...

2, 14, 3, 32, 10, ...

### Hint

e### Answer

48The answer is the digits of e multiplied by increasing positive integers, not including zero.

2x1=2, 7x2=14, 1x3=3, 8x4=32, 2x5=10, 8x6=48

WITHOUT THE HINT, WHOSE IMAGINATION GOES TO "e?"

wow very hard. but really good thinking on this one! nice job

"The answer is the digits of e multiplied by increasing positive integers, not including zero."

what is "e", though? I don't get it.

I still don't get it...

I'm afraid I'm with everyone else and still don't get it! Has definately been giving my brain a workout!

wtf i dun get tht at all it dunt mek sence

that was seriously hard ...

pay no mind to the negative feedback

good job!

I didn't leave negative feedback -- I honestly want to know how to solve it. If someone is able to explain it, I would love to hear how it's done.

I understand the positive integers part; I just don't understand what "e" is and how you get those values for e.

huh e isnt that a drug

Quote from Wikipedia, I can't really say it better. "The mathematical constant e is the unique real number such that the value of the derivative (slope of the tangent line) of f(x) = ex at the point x = 0 is exactly 1. The function ex so defined is called the exponential function, and its inverse is the natural logarithm, or logarithm to base e."

E is a mathematical constant, like pi, non repeating and non terminating. Why would I ask you to know the digits of a street drug?

I'm sorry, I didn't think that not everyone has heard of or used e. It's mainly used in trigonometry and calculus. In those subjects, it is more common than pi.

great teaser, and it doesnt matter that not all know what e is right? were here to learn too not only to succeed in solving!

What is E? i agree with everyone else... i thought 'E' means 'answer' in Math....

No issue with the mathematics, but this one was too obscure to be reasonably feasible - too obscure to be fun. imho

HUH?

I haven't done calculaus yet

I can't even spell it.....

e = 2.71828183.....

Wow, I haven't even though about e for a long time. Nice puzzle.
