Ah, since this is a math one, I thought that "MA" = M*A. In this case, the only answer is that A=0 and M=(any number).
Ahh, yeah, I thought zero also. (Too much calculus I guess)
ya for ppl high on math.. this probably would've went better in trick... o well.. it's still good
i liked this one. Why should it have been in tricks?
It is disappointing to see the votes so far. I think it is a nice miniature!
MA + A = AM
10m + a + a = 10a + m
10m + 2a = 10a + m
9m = 8a
m = 8
a = 9
Oh ya, who's got it!
10m + a + a = 10a + m
10m + 2a = 10a + m
9m = 8a
m = 8
a = 9
Oh ya, who's got it!

HUH?????

A better indication that the question is about digits used positionally would nice. If you must abbreviate 'M and A' in a question, make it 'M & A', not 'M+A'.
Couldn't agree more.
I think it's okay as-is. The word "digits" is used rather than the word "numbers".
