One Hundred Dollar Bill
One day a very rich man was counting his money when he got a very important phone call and he had to leave in a hurry. In his haste he left a one hundred dollar bill on the table. When he came home he noticed the money was missing and he asked the two only other people in the house what happened. The maid said she saw the bill on the table while dusting the library and she hid it under the book. The butler said he got the bill and put it between pages 35 and 36 because he thought it would be safer in the book than under the book. One of them is lying. Who? Why?
Answer
Because odd numbers are always on the right side of the page, pages 35 and 36 are on the same piece of paper so the butler was lying because you can't put anything between one piece of paper.Hide Answer Show Answer

Very funny! BTW-it also hade to be the butler because it says only one of them was lieing and if the made was lieing then the bill was never under the book so what the buttler sed could not be so.
I've seen this one before... it's very easy, but it's a good one because a lot of people wouldn't think that way.
man thats not fair lol i was gonna do that one but it was a duplicate =(
I really like it!
Have seen this one before; should have got it then, won't get it wrong again!
There are a few problems with this one...
First, as spike said, the butler is the only one who could be lying, since if the maid was lying, the dollar would never have been under the book for the butler to find and put inside it.
Second, there is actually nothing wrong with putting something between pages 35 and 36. I have seen books where the first page (after the table of contents) is on the left. In that case, the odd numbers are on the left and even on the right (as the book lies open). Nothing says that the odd pages have to be on the right.
Nice attempt, though!

According to print conventions the numbering is normally done in such a way that page one is facing the same direction as the cover.. (or is the cover). It's not a rule per se.. but it is the norm.
Besides.. everyone knows the butler did it.

Nobody liked the butler anyways. I mean, he WAS the one who always turned out to be the murderer in Clue.
that was creative, hard, and fun
I've seen this one a million times, it's not always money, it's sometimes a murder, and then somebody hides the will, and somebody else "finds it". But, essentially this a very common one you could find any where
boooooooooring. You copied that from somewhere, didn't you?
That wes nice! Though, I thought it had to be the butler, since he couldn't have seen the dollar note, as it was under the book. Unless, that is, this butler has the habit of lifting books in hopes of finding unsuspecting banknotes!
I've seen this one before and I finally got it!
