obviously logical :-) since when is it normal to walk backwards??
good one.
Maybe he was blind?
or the rain washed away the footprints?
Or he was walking on a path and mud was beside him?
first i thought it was that the rain washed them away, but i love your answer! very creative!
I thought it was because he was blind.
Cool idea, but the phrasing is way too ambiguous. The way it's worded leaves a lot of possible answers. A LOT.
'He couldn't see his footprints. Why?'
Because he was blind.
Because he didn't look at the ground.
Because the rain was so heavy that it was creating puddles, so his footprints were underwater.
Because the rain was so heavy that it was difficult to see the dirt clearly with all the raindrops splashing down.
Because the rain was so heavy that it had already washed his prints away.
Because he wasn't actually walking in the mud; he was walking ALONGside it. Maybe he was on a sidewalk next to a muddy lawn.
Because he was walking on his hands; therefore, he saw handprints instead.
None of these answers can be ruled out, because the question is too ambiguous.
