Unfortunately, a solar flare corrupted the transmission and severely damaged the telescope. Can you determine the size of the exoplanets, their distance from the Earth, their solar system, and the expplanet's name?

The transmission revealed several clues:

1. Hinveng is 4 light years closer to us than Rodul.

2. Vestor orbits star PLC 120.

3. Hinveng is 6 light years closer to us than the exoplanet with a diameter of 714,000 mi..

4. Of the exoplanet orbiting star HV 491 and the exoplanet orbiting star MKP 427, one has a diameter of 310,000 mi. and the other is 41 light years from Earth.

5. Ereph is farther away from us than the exoplanet with a diameter of 650,000 mi..

6. The exoplanet orbiting star HV 491 is 4 light years closer to us than the exoplanet orbiting star PLC 120.

7. The exoplanet with a diameter of 295,000 mi. doesn't orbit star EX 53.

8. Cheelia doesn't orbit star ZQ 75.

9. Ereph is either the exoplanet orbiting star HV 491 or the exoplanet 45 light years from Earth.

10. All planets are further than 40 light years away from Earth and closer than 50 light years away from Earth.

11. All planets are 281,000, 295,000, 310,000, 650,000, or 714,000 miles in diameter.

Those are big planets!

I took a swing at this one, but I was not able to solve it. Possbily a good fun challenge for true logic grid fans! Or, maybe Tilley solved it with a table.

An interesting puzzle, it's nice to complete one correctly in the first year since it was published.

They are not real. The diameters for the planets are too big to exist. For a reference, Jupiter's diameter is about 85,000 miles.
