Brain Teasers
Dead Man
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
A man is sitting in a chair by a window, SHOT DEAD IN THE HEAD. All there is, is a wet patch on the floor underneath the window. The window is locked, NOT SMASHED IN ANY WAY, and the door to the room is locked. The room window is DIRECTLY opposite another flat's window. How did the man die?
Answer
The window was open a little bit, propped open by a block of ice. A sniper from the other window shot the man in the head. The sun setting made the ice block melt, which then made the window click down to lock itself. The ice then made the wet patch inside the flat.Hide Answer Show Answer

Or the man committed suicide and the wet spot is his blood. Or the murderer killed him and locked the door on the way out (using a twist lock on the handle).
I'm sorry, but that was kinda vauge.
Why would the window be propped open with a block of ice. Think before u type something stupid.
I am not familiar with self locking windows. The ice part was obvious.
i'm impressed, not only that the man for some bizarre reason propped the window up with a block of ice, but that the sniper could manager to shoot the guy in the head through the small gap left...
That was rather rediculous... why wouls anyone want to prop their window open with ICE? it's just not too logical... and furthermore it would most likely be impossible for the sniper to shoot through a SMALL gap in the window...

yo everyone, there is another teaser called Dead Man in this category, it is much better, go check it out!
I would ask how the window became locked if it had been propped up and then fallen down. All the windows I have seen required direct action to lock them.
My windows lock themselves, if it is open under a place certain point, they fall and lock. Also, holding a window open with ice is bit silly, as it would cause the ice to slide out of place, break it, or melt after a while. 'Twas an OK teaser regardless.
who props open a window with ICE???
