Brain Teasers
National Anthem
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
Steve was at the Oakland Coliseum waiting for the start of a baseball game between the Oakland A's and the New York Yankees. He bet a Yankee fan twenty dollars that the Yankee fan couldn't sing half of the Star Spangled Banner. The Yankee fan paid Steve $20. How come?
Answer
The Star Spangled Banner has four verses. Few people know more than the first verse. Steve showed the Yankee fan a copy of the Star Spangled Banner, and the Yankee fan paid up. (He really did!)Hide Answer Show Answer

Congratulations on your first published teaser
Thanks. I hope Steve has some more situations.
It is always terrific to see new people creating teasers. Thanks Bridger!
I would have fallen for this bet. I would have thought the trap was that I would sing the anthem to prove Steve wrong, and Steve would say, "See, you couldn't just sing half. You had to finish." So, I'd stop halfway through. I never would have seen the four verse angle coming. $20 more for Steve.
Congrats on your first teaser!
