I don't think that the moon and the earth actually are the same age. Though it was a pretty good puzzle anyway.
Why is the mooon never 5 weeeks old?
I mean moon and weeks!
Because you have a new moon every 4 weeks!
I would say a month, but that was invented.
oh, i get it now. right, moonth=month. really.
anyhow, if they arent' the same age, the moon is younger. either way though, great teaser.

First off, the moon is expected to be as old as the earth, because the strongest theory we have is that the moon was originally part OF the earth....and therefore the same age....
Second....a lunar cycle lasts 28 1/2 days.......less than 5 weeks.

thats the big splash theory
the moon is not 5 weeks old, because each month is four weeks.
there is no proof that the moon is younger than the earth; if the earth captured the moon, their gravity would be so strong that they would swing each other out of their respective orbits.

Or crash into each other like that comet that's going to blow up the earth in 2029.
