In the land of MADADIA world famous sculptor, Chip Itout, was working on his latest creation, "The Kebab of Venus". He began with a block of marble that weighed 125 pounds. On the first day Chip chisels off 35% of the block. On the second day he removed 20% of what was remaining and on the third day he cut away 25% of what was left. What was the weight of the finished "Kebab of Venus" statue?

day 2 he removes 16.25lbs(20%of 81.25lbs) leaving 65lbs

I'm sorry, but this is yet another basic math problem void of any interesting qualities. Perhaps I don't understand what "braingle" is about, but it seems to me that the problems should be somewhat challenging or clever. Although, I can see how keeping up a big score could be satisfying for some, and submissions are surely the best way to keep your name in everyone's eyeballs when they first visit.
I partially agree with sillywilly because the qulity of this teaser is somewhat clever but boring, i would say that they require to much thinking but then that would sound like a plee for the teasers to be easier, which is one of the last things i want, so i don't know what i saying here
The purpose of such boing teasers is to provide you smart people with an opportunity to suggest a much more clever solution than the one published. Mad-Ade is particularly good at doing this. For example this problem is much more easily solved by looking at what remains rather than what is chipped away. Thus 0.65 x 0.8 x 0.75 x 125 = 48.75
