Brain Teasers
Flickering Lights
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
A man is running down a long hallway with papers in his hands. The lights flicker on and off, and the man drops his papers, turns around, and walks back to where he came from....Why?
Answer
The man is a lawyer and the papers were evidence that his client was innocent. When the lights flickered on and off his client was electrocuted in the electric chair and died. At that point all hope was lost and he went home.Hide Answer Show Answer

oh come on!
I think the flickering lights scenario is a figment of hollywood imagination.
Wow! You got me there....I'm surprised I didn't get that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A_n_d_y just looooves these situation ones lol
Most attorneys file paperwork at the courthouse not the prison
Oh you took mine! Good one though...
Wow, that's depressing
I thought the papers were the money that he had just robbed from the bank but then the lights that flickered were the lights from a cop's car but your answer's fine with me

Never trust a lawyer without a cell phone.
i'm somewhat concerned that the lawyer just gave up - if he was a true lawyer he'd be filing for an appeal posthumously which would declare his client innocent. he would then encourage his client's family to sue the system (thus making more money). i think it's pretty clear that whoever wrote this teaser is not a lawyer

Good teaser. Unfortunately I have already heard this one.
Poor guy.
