Man Underwater
A man dove into the water with no tank, no snorkel, or any other device which allowed him to breathe, yet he stayed down there to live for the rest of his life. How is this possible?
Answer
Of course he died within minutes like any human would, but he had lived there for the rest of his life!Hide Answer Show Answer

To my amazement, i got that right. i love trick questions
i thought he dove under a shower or something. Nice one.
Why would you spend the rest of your life in a shower?
someone could be weird enough...
Prett good except u said that he lived there for the rest of his life...if he's dead, he's not living.
yeah but the minutes that he spent under water would still be the rest of his life.
very clever

The rest of his life was short, but at least I got it!!
Your teaser is very clever!
You said that he lived there the rest of his life. But, he died there?
I GOT 1!!
He stayed down there for the rest of his life. He was asleep on the bottom!
cool one. And i actually understand it!
I got it. I said "He drowned"

how can you LIVE for the rest of your life when you have died though?..that bit confused me...didnt anyone else?
he lived, then he died
the time between jumping in the water and dying was the rest of his life. it wasnt long but he was alive when he jumped in. good teaser
He could have dove/dived/diven in the water and just floated on his back, and lived longer that way
wow....great teaser at first i was like "what that makes no sense" then i tohught a bout it and then after 2 days i figred out the rest of his life could mean something else. Then after a year or two i came back and knew it. Cool!Great! A+
it was good, but how could he LIVE if he's dead?
The rest of his life, as short as that may be, is spent under water. That's the trick. They want you to think by saying "the rest of his life" that it has significant length to it.
Great teaser!
Great teaser!
Would "the water was only four feet deep, so when he stood up, all was well" count as a valid alternate answer?
I actually came up with the intended answer, but Tinhorn came up with that possibility.

He should have called a suicide hotline.
As a teaser I rate this minus 1 on a scale of 1-10.
Was this written by a 5-year-old? A brain teaser should have an answer. This one basically said "it's impossible, he dies"
Haha good one I got it right away
Good teaser, the trick being in the wording "the rest of his life" which was for sure a very short time.
I'm with doehead!
That was easy enough: "The rest of his life was only a few short minutes!"
Easy answer, not much of a trick in my opinion, but thanks for posting.
That's so weird, it's like not even a riddle. It's just what it is.
okay- so my thought was that he dove in without any equipment, becuase he threw it in BEFORE he dove in.
Waste of my time This isn't a teaser to me. There's no puzzle to figure out about how one could survive underwater without help, the answer was that he didn't survive at all.
I think this is a good trick teaser. thanks,

to all ye disgruntled people: this is technically in the trick category, don't act so surprised...
nice teaser!
I thought he just jumped in and swam into a big air lock and lived there for a while.

Very tricky, VERY SWEET though!!!
Thought of the correct answer straight away, then dismissed it as being too lame
Of course, that was the ONLY answer. He "lived there" for the rest of his life. When he drowned, his life ended.
Kinda silly, but thanks for posting.

I'm surprised to find that no one here has lost a friend by drowning.
I found this very disturbing.
I found this very disturbing.
well, if you didn't say that he 'dove' underwater, I would have an answer. But I would'nt say it here because it will be my teaser
I was guessing before I realized this was a gross quiz and I agree it was disturbing. However before I found that out I thought he was in a submarine which dives when it goes under. Didn't like the answer either
man pretty are crazy! haha He lived for the rest of his life YOU LIVE AND YOU DIE!! He went down in the water, and live there for the rest of his life which was probably only a few minutes!
This was just plain dark.
The answer came to me right away then i thought it couldn't possibly be so silly. I was wrong. The brief idea that you were after some aquatic creature like a (Portuguese) man-o-war also seemed like a poor one so I thought I was giving up.
I guess this one was like a knock-knock joke, only meant for the small fry.

He dove into a pool that goes into a cave that opens up inside the mountain.
Easiest puzzle I ever heard.
Ohhhhhhh... Good one!
I liked it. I think the haters on this one just aren't appreciating the "trick" part of the wording. It wasn't in the science category for a reason!
I'm with Babe on this one; I thought submarine, as well?
Turns out it is more of a lame 'Dad Joke'!
