Nice riddle.
Nice one but PLUM???
The last one could also be umber.
The colour is plum not PLUMB. And Umber = A natural brown earth containing ferric oxide and manganese oxides, used as pigment.
Any of the shades of brown produced by umber in its various states. Of or related to umber. Having a brownish color

plum is a fruit, and rose is a flower. although one can use it to describe colors, there are not colors.
yes but if you see in the answer that all of the other words are colors therfore making rose and plum colors
plum and rose are not colours. umber is.
plum and rose are colors. umber isn't.
In the last one Umber is a color so wouldn't it be right too?

I think this was great. Definitely harder than it looks. Took some thought and eliminating, but I finally came up with all the right answers. And yes, I got umber as well.
Well, I liked it! And yes, plum and rose are colors.....jeesh!
Like finding a PLUM among the GREEN leaves ia a PINK ROSE bush
Quite easy. There is also another color- lumber- lUMBER
Yeah, umber, not lumber, right? lumber's not a color is it?
I agree that umber is a color, rose is a color and plum is a color. They were taken from the objects, but they are used in every set of crayons and paints. Maybe the creator should have specified either primiary, secondary, or colors of crayons, colors used for pigments or paints, etc. But they would probably even be defined as colors in the dictionary. OK, I'll check. Hold on...OK, surprising actually, Here's what I found. This was the fifth definition of "plum" in Amer. Heritage Dict.: 5. A dark purple to deep reddish purple.. OK, out of about six different dictionaries, this was the ONLY one that included the color. I didn't check Websters but I just looked at all the first online dictionaries listed, and since it took way more time than I expected, I'm not able to look up "rose". So, I guess "plum" is a color, according to at least one out of five or six dictionaries.
Thanks for the fun teaser!

I liked this teaser, and yes, plum is a color and rose is a color and (burnt) umber is a color. Remember your crayolas????
I really liked this one! Great job!
And people, why are you being so dang technical! Lighten up and have fun. Who cares if the color names are not red or purple; having other color names makes it more interesting and more beautiful. And obviously a lot harder for you. Have more fun next time! And as far as rose and plum being considered colors, all you have to do is go down the makeup aisle or visit a home decorating center and you will see these earth based colors and more everywhere! Have a great day!!!

Too easy.
I really love this kind of teaser. You have to get right down into the sentence and find the words.
It may be simple to some of you, but I still like them. Keep them coming hon. Thanks for posting.

Another thing, If you buy that big ole box of crayola crayons, those colors are in there in crayon form.
Thanks.

Thanks.

Nice one, need more crayons!!
Sure, Umber is a color. However, it isn't exactly hidden as the others (and the example) are, being only part of a single word. I'd have to say that Plum is the more appropriate answer.
Easy but entertaining.
Yeah, I got umber too, maybe it should be changed to say that umber is another possible answer...
Way to go Doe!! Nice teaser, but way easy for a 'word' person. But I love and need to feel smartish occasionally...thanks!
oooh, im not so good at these...
i think plum is a color, and of course rose is a color, but ive never heard of umber.

great teaser... my kids have the box of 328 Crayola crayons... if anyone wants to dispute that they are not colors, Crayola will prove you wrong
nice....
4/4! That doesn't happen often. Good job, I loved it!
The fourth sentence contains the COLOR "umber". See definition #2 here: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/umber
Another very easy one, but I like easy! According to my grandchild's crayon box rose and plum are colors and as old as I am I have always considered rose and plum colors. What a silly thing to argue over, just look it up!
this was hysterical reading all the pseudo quarrels-it was fun all the way around-
I settled for plum, good one! I can't validate umber a color, but raw umber and burnt umber is a color, so sure why not?
Gee, Zykezex, I don't know why you can't validate "umber" as a colofr, though it wasn't the color the puzzle-maker had in mind. Three dictionaries I consulted define "umber" as "a medium to dark brown color." So in fact it could be considered that that last sentence contains two hidden colors, plum, and umber.
This time around, I too got umber. Fun teaser
Fun and easy teaser. I got them all, including umber. Saw plum
first, and then saw umber, so switched off of plum to that.

Here's a laugh on myself.
I am always in a big hurry to do the puzzle,
so I don't read the title or the category OR the directions. For ten minutes I was trying to find the animal in each sentence!
Fun puzzle - I love these and I did find the colors once I realized what I was doing wrong. It's good to be able to laugh at yourself. Life is too short not to!

Fun and enjoyable teaser; I got them all except plum - I thought it was umber. I believe that umber is a valid color so it could also be considered correct.
YAY! I got them all , including rose and plumb (I remember the original 64 color Crayola crayon and they both where incl.)
Sorry, another one for the juniors me thinks!
Fun, easy and entertaining teaser; this time I got them all (including plum) very quickly.
I guess if kids read this, too...
