Which clock works better, the one that loses a minute a day, or the one that doesn't work at all?
Answer
It depends on your definition of "works better".1) The one that doesn't work is better as it will always be correct twice a day, but the one that loses a minute a day will not be correct again for 720 days (losing 720 minutes or 12 hours).
2) The one that loses a minute a day is better because you can keep track of how far off it is and then add to find the correct time. There is no way that anyone looking at the stopped clock could ever figure out the correct time, even if it does happen to be right twice a day.

Fun teaser! One of my philosophy professors had us debate this issue where the two clocks in question were a second off and stopped. You wouldn't believe how many budding philosophers chose the stopped clock! There certainly are different schools of thought in this world! Thanks for reminding me of a college moment.
That was alright, except I think that, that is more like one of those two way thinking type problems and probably not for a logic website, but rather a phylosophy class as stated above. Just the opinion of an eigth grader though.
