The Tool Shed
Duffus Mcclutski had a little tool shed in back of his farm. But being that there were no windows and the transformer that ran the lights got fried when Duffus tried to curl his hair to impress the cute girl next door(But that's another teaser), Duffus was always cutting himself on his sharp tools whenever he went to retrieve them from his tool shed to use.
So one day Duffus had an idea so that he would never cut himself again. He got 10 candles, a pot, and a blow torch. His idea worked rather well too.
Duffus didn't use the candles or the torch for light as most people would; no he did something quite different to keep from cutting himself.
What did Duffus do ?

Hint
He did what many Industrial saw blade manufacturers do.Answer
Duffus melted the wax and dipped the tools in it to cover the cutting edge. Industrial suppliers of saw blades and cutting equipment use a similar method to coat and protect sharp edges. When the item is first used, the wax simply peels off. Then when finished with the blade he can simply reapply the wax.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

i think that was cool i didn't know u could do that
It would also reduce the chance of the tools rusting. But it is a lot of work and just burning a candle for light makes more sense. Nice story line though.
Yup, that's what I thought.
Here's another tip for protecting yourself from sharp-edged tools - cut a piece of an old garden hose to the right length, cut a slit along the length and slip it over the sharp edge.

clever idea, although i agree that it is a lot of work. maybe he is a "duffus" because he didn't think to go buy a flashlight, or to just light the darn candles!
He also could have just burned down the tool shed angrily and never gone back to cut himself...
good one! But a bit confushing at the begining..................
During the depression years (1930) , my grandfather used to use the fat that dripped from roast mutton to coat sharp edged tools, mainly to protect the edges from rust. Nice teaser!
