Trivia
Trivia brain teasers have some element of trivia in them, but they are not just pure trivia questions.Trivia
I saw my friend Bob at the bar. He was drinking heavily and looked really down. I asked him, "What's the matter?"
He said, "My baseball team just got six hits in an inning and yet they didn't score a single run!"
I said, "That's impossible!"
Is it?

Hint
Remember the rulesAnswer
The first batter got a single. He was then thrown out trying to steal second. One hit, one out, no runs. The next batter got a double and was thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple. Two hits, two outs, no runs.
The next three batters each got a single, with each runner moving up one base on each hit. Five hits, two outs, no runs.
The last batter hit a ground ball between first and second which struck the runner who was leading off from first. By the rules, the batter is credited with a hit, the runner is called out, and the inning is over. Six hits, three outs, no runs.
I told Bob, "The next round's on me."

I ogt it right, but only because I used to play t-ball...which is basically baseball with a hitting stand(the tee).
Good one!
that was very, very easy
I don't think that's right. Since the runner was out in a force situation (it doesn't have to be a force out), the hit shouldn't count.
I came up with a more contrived answer, which may (or may not) work:
The batter grounds to the short stop, the batter reaches first, the runner from first makes it to second and comes off the bag and is tagged out before the runner from third scores. This way the out isn't ina forcing situation. (The runner from third would have to really slow.)

I use to play softball and I thought that was a good one.
Nice writing or editing - I enjoyed it.
this teaser was a hit with me, so that makes seven hits with no runs, but you definitely SCORED !
I liked this one, although I didn;t get it right. Keep them coming
hmmm, very interesting although I think there are several arrangments that could cause this to happen
If the base runners were dolts and only advance one base per hit, there are ceratinly ways to have even more hits with no runs!! Believe me, I've been a Cubs fan for a long time and know what goofy situations can occur!! LOL
That was easy once u looked at the answer!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!!
I liked this teaser alot! /i am planning to try out for softball, so thanks for all the info! Keep 'em comin'!
isnt there more then one answer?
I don't think there is any other way for this to happen, other than different ways for the first two players to get on base and then make out.
