Yes, you can get a doctorate degree. And 3 degrees below 0 makes more sense to me, too.

I'm not sure I agree... in my experience, a PhD is a doctorate degree. It would be more appropriate to place BA, BS, MA, MS, MBA, DDS, DPM, DVM, or abbreviation for another granted degree.
I'd like to know what type of degree this author has....
