Brain Teasers
Is It Really Worth It?
Detective Brown was once again talking to his friend, Ms. Tina Gull.
''So Tina, how have you been?''
''Fine, thank you. I wanted to ask you something though. I am selling a piece of my property in Europe; a mountainous region with a lot of caves. The real estate agent says that it's worth no more than $200,000, since nobody can really live there because of the caves, and it's too mountainous. Also, in the caves there are bear bones and scratch marks. The agent says that these are from Cave Bears and, since they are the bones of bears that are healthy and thriving nowadays, the archaeological team would have no interest in my property. Therefore, the bones would not add anything extra to the value of my property. I had someone do a DNA analysis to see if they are really Cave Bear bones, and the woman said that yes, they indeed are Cave Bears. Should I get a second opinion?''
''Well Ms. Tina, I'd advise you to get a different real estate agent; one who is not trying to scam you.''
How did Detective Brown know Tina was being scammed (yet again!)?

Hint
The DNA analyzer only told Tina one sentence:''They are Cave Bear bones.''
Answer
Detective Brown knew that the agent was trying to scam Tina, as he knew that Cave Bears have been extinct for around 10,000 years. The real estate agent knew that Tina knew nothing about bears, and thought he could get her to sell for much less than her property was really worth.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

Doesn't a Real Estate broker get a percentage of the sale price? Why then try to get her to sell for under the value of the property?
The Real Estate Agent wanted to buy it himself and then Sell for Beaucu Bucks!!! I loved It!
I said there were no European Cave Bears. Was I right? Half right?
So what would add to the value, old dead bears, the caves or the mountains? Huh???

WOW! I was waaaay off!! I thought it was the historical lascaux caves in France, with all of the old cave paintings inside, but I didn't really read the teaser hard enough to understand it.
