Brain Teasers
What Six Digit Number Am I?
I am a six digit number. My digits add up to 31, and all of my digits are distinct, and between 1 to 9 inclusive. All of my digits except one are odd. My second is 6 greater than my third, which is 5 less than my fifth. My last is 1 less than the previous digit, and the fourth is greater than the third. My first is equal to the sum of my fourth and fifth.
Hint
The second and third numbers have to be 7 & 1.Answer
The second and third numbers have to be 7 & 1. The alternative 9 & 3 wouldn't work because that would make the fifth number 8 when the only even number is 6. The rest falls easily into place. So I am 971365.

Thanks for the puzzle . I'm proud of myself for figuring it out on paper.
Nearly got it, but I'm not good at maths. Got confused with the 3rd number...
Thanks guys. It's not the easiest of questions of its type, to be fair, and I took a while to figure out some clues which give you enough info to figure it out, but not too much. Maybe I should put an extra statement in to help folk on their way, but that might make it too easy. It's a fine balance!
I got it after a little while. Have never been very good at maths but its fun solving simple problems every now and again. Thanks for posting
You aren't as frugal with your words as ye might be. "The fourth is greater than the third" unnecessarily states a condition which is the unavoidable result of earlier requirements.
Quite entertaining, but easy. Well done
i think anyone can solve this..
VERY EASY..
VERY EASY..
I wouldn't say "anyone" could solve this. People who don't think about the fact that there are only 5 odd numbers may struggle to identify the last remaining number as 6. Good puzzle, enjoyed it.
