luvsfrogs, the hint simply uses the pattern developed in the teaser: A-men, B-cause, C-son, D-velopment.

Did anybody get this one? It was hard.
If you want to put them in their proper order, then See-Saw would be last, as it starts with 'S' and only has the sound of 'C'. Picky, I know.
You could've used Lover in place of Saw, that way when you add 'C' you'd get Clover.
Other than that, it really was very clever, though that hint had nothing to do with anything.

It's not the letters, it's the SOUNDS of the letters. Look at the answer carefully.
B. Leaf
C. Saw
The B. makes the "bee" sound and the C. makes the "see" sound.
Clover wouldn't work at all.
This was an excellent one, but my brain wouldn't quite grasp it. Perhaps a stronger hint would have helped me, but I was being too visual, thinking the likes of baseball icons or flags or something like that.

Figured it out after noticing that the choices were lettered, not numbered. 
I agree with auntiesis and bestgirl and I vote with them. Did not like it! You can say it was because I did not get it, but you would be wrong. Lots I do not get, but I like them and think they are clever. This one was not in my opinion.

I liked it. If I would have tried harder I would have gotten them all but I didn't get depart or emit. I was on the right track just couldn't get those 2.
Best puzzle that has ever appeared in Braingle! Really elegant solution. Once I got C. Saw, the rest were simple but it's easy not to notice the pattern as well.

I had doubts about De-corn as I'm not sure it is a real word, I don't know why I didn't think of acorn and depart.

I was lazy on this. I tried adding A-E before each word, but discounted it because it did not spell a word. I did not leap to the homonyms. Bad on me. Terrific puzzle!
That was totally stupid; following that logic, 'Acorn' is the odd one out, because all the others are made up words? 
Fun, easy and entertaining teaser. It took a little while but I figured out the pattern and got of the words in the right order. Very clever teaser - enjoyed it.
