Lies 2
A man walks up to you and says - "everything I say to you is a lie."
Is he telling you the truth or is he lying?
Is he telling you the truth or is he lying?
Answer
He's lying. Even though he's lying when he says "everything" he says is a lie, some of the things he says can be a lie, and this is one of them.Hide Answer Show Answer

He's Lying. Just because he's lying doesn't mean that everything he tells you is the truth.
Nice twist to an old puzzle. I like it! (And I'm not lying).
This is a great teaser, but I don't think you explained the answer very well.
If everything he tells you is a lie, then what he said must be a lie. I liked it, but it was too simple.

I concur with 7catac7. Just way too simple.
7cat and Mercedes, you're missing the point - if everything he tells you is a lie, then the statement "everything I say to you is a lie" is the truth, which it of course cannot be. Everything he says is NOT a lie, but this statement happens to be.
Sotnakkit, some things he says can be the truth.
i agree with 7catac7 too!
The whole truth lies thing is getting overdone.
bit simple but a good teaser! i liked it and i hope to see more teasers from you
I don't think this puzzle can be answered. "everything I say to you is a lie" then he is lying and he is telling you the truth. But he he is lying when he says he is telling you the truth... anyone agree?
Well, according to the computer entity in Star Trek there is no answer, that's why the thing blew up! LOL! Actually I agree that he has to be lying. Another thing, there is no such thing as a teaser that is too simple on this site since it is for all ages. Good job odcsurferchick.
A man either tell the truth, tell lies, or have a mix of both in his whole life. If he tells the truth all the time, he will be lying in saying that. If he lies all the time, that statement will not be true. So he is a mix of both. Hence, he lies that he tells lies all the time. The complicating part is that simple minded people will think that he either tells all truth or all lies so either way, it will be a paradox.
