Bird on the Moon
If a light oxygen tank were tied to a bird so that it can breathe on the moon, would the bird fly faster, slower or the same speed as it does on earth? (Remember that there is less gravity on the moon)
Answer
A bird cannot fly on the moon because there is no air to suspend it.Hide Answer Show Answer

This was very easy i cant believe that some didnt know it
This was easy, but a teaser nonetheless. It would easily have been categorized in science.
I thought it ws great!!! I didn't get... well, I read it before, but I still didn't get it this time!!!!!
loved it. made me remember my science classes
This could go in some kind of category for those who know the facts of different planets or moons in this Solar System. Good teaser, though!
Easy but your choice of words was very good and could have mislead some. Enjoyed it.
I knew the answer was that the bird wouldn't be able to fly at all...I knew it had to do w/ atmosphere (or lack there of). Didn't think of gravity, or that the 'air' held the bird up.
Very cool!

i think this would have been better in science or trivia - i have no idea how birds fly (other than flapping their wings)
good one! got that one quickly. i like it when that happens.
got it right. scientificaly though for a bird to live on the moon it would need a lot more then an air tank due to preasure/lack of preasure from space. There would basically need to be enough of a framework to either almost allow the bird to fly or actualy allow it to for the bird to even survive up there.
