Mystery
Mystery teasers are little stories where you need to figure out what happened based on the given clues.Mystery
A father took his sons to an amusement park one day. He told them to meet him at the entrance at 5:00 later that day. When the kids finally showed up at the end of the day, it was 5:30. The father said that he was angry and wouldn't take them again for a whole month. One of the boys said, "Wait, it wasn't our fault! We were on a roller coaster, but as we went down the first hill the engine blew out!" After thinking for a while, he grounded the boys. How did he know they were lying?
Answer
Roller coasters don't have engines. They have a special motorized track to get them up the first big hill. After that, gravity takes over and they can coast all the way to the end.Hide Answer Show Answer

u could also say that the roller coaster had crashed. the boys would surely be hurt, or the father would have seen it happen. also he may have been informed.
The engine running the motorised track could have blown out, therefore they would have been telling the truth.
but it says as they were going down the first hill
maybe it drops a foot right out of the station, but doesn't get enough speed to get up the blow-out lift hill
really easy... i dont really think it should be mystery though......?
how easy
every body should know by now that trains of the roller coaster dont have engines
but it was still interesting and it was very nice too

good one! I thought that the kids were lying because if the engine blew up, they would've gotten stuck, they had to stop the roller coaster, a complete chaos and the kids would've never showed up at the gate on time. Thus, the father would know something was wrong and found them stuck in the roller coaster.
simple science
i'm thinking this might belong in trivia - i have no idea how roller coasters operate (i've never been on one in my life, and i have no intention of ever doing so)

I think it was funny how you put the roller coaster engine stopped working.
I know it didn't say how old the sons were, but they would have to be in there teens for a father to let them lose in an amusement park. You would think they would know roller coasters don't have engines. Or maybe he wasn't thinking and trying to come up with a lie real quick. But he had thirty min. because he knew he would need an explanation...i'm over complicating this!
whoa
Cute and fun!!
if that was for real like in real life somebody must be that slow to make up a dumb lie like that!!!!!!but it was funny!!
Completly unrealsistic.
Acctually blackblet92 it's not kids lie all the time. I acctually knew this one though.
that was easy i got it right easiely
i thought it was becuz if they were going DOWN a hill the engine wouldnt of mattered because of gravity.
