I never heard that saying before, so I didn't have a prayer. I did like the clues once I saw the answer.
Likewise, though naturally everyone's heard of braves being indians.
Still, very clever.. i thought it would be something stupid like "he had reservations.." lol

You have to know the phrase. I know the phrase and I still didn't get it.

Good one. Caught me out again. I thought Indian would be in the answer (as I now guess was the intention by not saying "Indian warrior") and came up with "He's an Indian giver" even though that would have been a weak answer. I should have known Fortune would have to come in somewhere.
I too thought fortune would come into the answer but could not come up with it...I was thinking ..not much of anything...
Good one. Even though I have heard the answer, it threw me a curve ball.
Lovedthis one.I would like more like this one.
I came close but I have never heard that particular saying. I have heard of a saying that fortune favors the well-prepared, however. I was thinking along the lines of "To the brave goes everything."
All I could think of was the fortunes of war.
I agree with Araldite. Knew the phrase, but still didn't get it til I read the answer.
I got "Fortune smiles on the brave." Does that count?
BTW "Indian giver" seems like it could also be a correct answer given the clues.

i didn't get it either. but it was fun
I always thought that the saying was that fortune favors the bold. Either way, good teaser.

Thought the quote was 'bold,' not brave. Got it anyway, though.
I thought the answer was "Indian giver". It fits the teaser.

I liked the answer, but I am afraid I did not get it.
I'm with Chelsie! No I'm not - I take that back.
A bit of a stretch, I think, but thanks for posting.
