A Gift You Can Not Receive
English poet Sir Thomas Wyatt wrote the following:
A lady gave me a gift she had not,
And I received her gift I took not.
She gave it me willingly and yet she would not,
And I received it albeit I could not.
If she gave it me I force not,
And if she take it again she cares not.
Consider what this is and tell not,
For I am fast sworn I may not.

Genius!
I thought, for sure, that he was talking about the love he and Anne Boleyn shared because she was frantic to make sure that he promised never to disclose anything about their relationship. I like the answer "a kiss"-much nicer!!
