Answer
AtlasAn "Atlas", or a book composed of a group of maps, was named after King Atlas, the mythical King of Mauritania, who supposedly created the first globe. However, many people incorrectly think that it was named after Atlas, from Greek mythology, the son of Iapetus and Clymene (Asia), and was punished by the Greek god Zeus and forced to hold up the heavens.
