Brain Teasers
Operation: Football-Ectomy
Six words have had their football terms removed. The football terms have been placed into Group A. The remaining letters of each word have been placed into Group B. Your task is to reconstitute the words by merging each football term with the proper set of letters. Other than merging the two groups together, there is no rearranging of the letters. Example: sand + pne = spanned (SpANneD).
Group A: down, pass, punt, rush, sack, yard
Group B: efrbi, emhi, enmet, esi, imrde, kebo
Group A: down, pass, punt, rush, sack, yard
Group B: efrbi, emhi, enmet, esi, imrde, kebo
Answer
down + enmet = endowment (enDOWmeNt)pass + emhi = emphasis (emPhASiS)

Enjoyed this teaser... very fun
I am terrible at thesebut love trying anyway!
You should specify that any set of letters could go with any of the football terms. As it is it seems like we should be trying to make words with the term and the letters beneath it.
Sooo hard, but fun! It took about 10 minutes but I got them all. It's so tricky because small changes in the letter placement can change the structure of the words so dramatically. It seems like they must be crazy obscure words, and then finally you figure it out and it's like, "Wow, how was that everyday word hiding in there?"
Also, I disagree with Pat. I mean, I suppose more clarity couldn't HURT any, but I thought it was perfectly clear that the order of the word segments was variable.
