Brain Teasers
How old is Sarah?
Sarah went to get her drivers license. When asked her age, she replied: "My age today is three times what it will be three years from now minus three times what my age was three years ago." How old is Sarah?
Answer
Sarah is 18.If she is 18, then three times her age three years from now would be 21*3 (63). Three times her age three years ago would be 15*3 (45). Subtract 45 from 63 and she is 18.

use of algebra could have been suggested as an alternative to trial and error
3(x + 3) - 3(x - 3) = x
gave a qiuck answer..18
the solution given only explained why the answer 18 was correct without offering avenues for stirring up interest !...a frustrating useless tease!

Anybody working in the bureau of motor vehicles office that I've been to would have slapped her face off sooner than go through all that math!
Good Teaser!
yeah what moron would answer with that? lol
Didn't even bother with the algebra. Since everything is 3 times, the age has to be 3 times the difference between the numbers or 3 x (3 + 3) = 18.
Quick solutions are best! Stupendous!
