Trying to get this darn bug out of the house before the holidays. Sgt, Chris, and I are all coughing, have no energy, and achy all over from coughing (started 3-4 days ago). Thanksgiving is in a few days, so I'm going to squish this bug!!!

Everyone missed my birthday.

Okay, not everyone - but no one at work said a thing. And it was on the calendar in the break room!

Sore throat that won't go away.

I have no other symptoms - no sneezing, no cough, no fever... just a darn sore throat. It was bad enough today for me to see the doctor who basically confirmed that it didn't require antibiotics. Only time. ARRGH.

Google is the worst. Never work for them.

Google is still super, super terrible. Never work for them. My actual employer isn't bad, but Google employees take days to respond to you (if at all), can only be contacted through their rarely used email, and often fail to give you work. So yeah, a terrible gig.

Now, through me trying to make my job less difficult and actually get more work out of it, I've been punished by Google. And, wouldn't you know it, Google is lazy at coming to a conclusion about my job just as they are about everything. It's been 6 hours without a word!

Never work for Google: they hate it when their employees try to work.

Well it wasn't today, it was about 2 weeks ago. Just wanted to let everyone know why I've been MIA. I was taking a houseguest home to FL and after crossing the GA line, we were rear ended on the interstate at full speed by a drunk/drugged up driver. My passenger and I are ok and after fleeing the scene the lady who hit me was caught and arrested. She has 4 charges pending and a $3000 bond. It's been a little hectic since then and I've been fighting with the insurance company. Any suggestions on how to deal with that? I've been told to get a lawyer, but I don't want to have a lawyer fee to pay on top of all the other drama. Anywho, just wanted to touch base with ya'll. Will be back on for WWG and WTB soon I hope.

That's terrible! Glad you are okay.

My frown - had a liver biopsy today. It went fine - won't know the results for a week. But we're going to get a $400 bill for it. That's worse than the soreness I'm feeling.

What made me frown was another record breaking temp today. I am so not ready for spring and we still need more winter which is when we get our rain.

Absy, so glad to hear about your accident but glad you are all okay. Do you have a local Lawyers Referral Service in your area? They are designed to match you up to a local attorney who deals with issues such as you are going through. Most of the attorneys on the list have a free consultation.

Whov, I hope your test results are okay. I know how that wait can be - I had a biopsy on a lump on my lower leg and it was taken before Thanksgiving (a few years ago now) and the results didn't come back until after the holiday and were, thankfully, negative. Try to relax and keep yourself busy to keep your mind off the wait...

Thank you froggy. I've got my results and while it's not a clean bill of health, it is a livable condition.

I do need to go on medication and what is making me FROWN is the doctor who left me a message right before leaving on his week-long vacation.
Seriously, how about writing the prescription before you leave instead of making me wait?

Hope you feel better soon, whovian.

My frown: road work in front of my work is making it VERY hard to get there on time. Can't really leave earlier since I have to get the kids to school at a specific time.

Hope you feel better Whov. Hope Mr. Snappy's lungs are nice and clear.

I agree that medical costs are outrageous and going up all the time.

Health [or no health] makes me frown.
I am sick.
Now Mr Snappy may have to have an op on his left lung.

I'm sorry to hear that you are not feeling well, Snappy. Hopefully, Mr. Snappy won't need the op. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

Grabbing a shirt off a hall tree (the kind that are wood and have curved wooden arms) and having it become unbalanced and fall. My luck, the only arm that has the curve broke off the end exposing broken wood, hits me in the eye as it falls. Nothing like starting out the morning with a gash between your eyebrow and your eyeball! Worse yet, it kept swelling and we discovered a nice sized splinter of wood in the cut.
