Just turned 2018, 10 minutes ago... fireworks and gun shots into the air fill the void of silence.

Grayma called me tonight to tell me that she is on the mend, but is going to a rest home in the morning. She will get the care she needs in order to regain her health. Once she is better, she will then move into an assisted care facility where she will have more freedom but still have the medical assistance as needed. She has already lived in the assisted living home and said it is located somewhat in a country like area. She mentioned how she likes to sit outside and watch the birds and other wildlife.

She wanted me to let everyone know since she may not be on Braingle for a while until she gets her laptop. She is in good spirits and just as feisty as always as shown by her anger at the New Years celebration on TV when they switched location away from a one man show by Keith Urban. She said that, when she couldn't watch the rest of his show, she turned off the TV. Yep, Grayma loves her Keith Urban!

A belated Happy New Year to our Braingle family and may 2018 be a wonderful new year for everyone!

Thanks for the information Froggy, I have missed Grayma!

ok, I edited, because the last time I wrote this in it's entirety, I was unable to post... my computer dumped my internet connection. I did a complete reboot of the systems and such and will try again. As you can conceive, I am having computer problems since I downloaded a new Adobe Flash yesterday or Tuesday... suspect something was attached to it that I missed. Anyway, it's been fun trying to restore my computer. If you do not see me for a few days... it means I gave up and will buy a new computer. Windows 10 is not a friendly system to try and reset... take care. I am hoping the bad is behind me; gulp. Welcome 2018!

Truly happy to hear James! Cut thumb with onion juice... that by itself would be an owe!

I have a brother in law who cut open a package on the top of his leg with his knife... yeah, went right through the package and cut a slice in his leg. That was some 5 years ago, we still kid him about that. He did get a few stiches though. Kidding or not, there is always some concern that something else, like an infection, could come out of it. Tetanus shot is a good thing. My last one was 12 years ago, so I should ask for one during my next doctor's visit.

So happy that your dad is better and at home! I bet he is happier as well to be home...there is no place like home! Take care of yourself though because you have to be all good to look after him!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! The holidays this year were very busy at the tea shop and we *almost* broke even for the first time. Definitely getting closer! LOL

The superbowl is in town and it is crazy here.
Has anyone else lived in a host city?

Back in the early 90's the Super Bowl was at the Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl is about 2 1/2 to 3 miles from me. It wasn't much of an issue for us, because we didn't have to really travel or shop that way. We did cruise Colorado Blvd the day before on purpose to see the crowds. I worked in Northridge at the time and my drive on the freeway went by the Rose Bowl, luckily I was off on Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday, by the time I got off work the game was just about to start so the crowds were pretty much already there and I took a different freeway home to eliminate some of the traffic.

Having fun with that craziness? It will be a long time before it happens again!

RGW, our company is working on a construction site within the security perimeter. No new deliveries were allowed to the site last week. Parking last Thursday and Friday could cost as much as $100. Just a little more than the usual $15.
Traffic around the MOA was very thick the last couple of days. Media row is set up there and the Eagles are staying at the attached hotel. We had a crew there working 10 hour days, pulling wires for media row and upgraded wifi throughout the mall.
We hosted the superbowl in 1992. It is amazing how the event has evolved.
It's not too cold snappy, it's above zero by 3 degrees.

Good luck tonight jaycr!

The Eagles won in a great game. I didn't agree with the two touch down calls that went to full review, but would still wonder if they would have got a touch down after the call anyway so I will not double guess the game. Before the game, I could care less who won, but the boo's when the Patriots came out just set the tone that I wanted them to pull it off.

Enjoy the moment.

I must say...we have an Eagles Australian Rules Football team here and I don't like them....so I was rather wanting the Patriots to win. Oh well....I am sure everyone had fun and will have a good year talking about it!
