Yeah, people died. Aren't you surprised?

One person dies about every six seconds. This topic should remain current until a cure for death is found.

Well then.

Roman 6:23 The wages sin pays is death.
Read Isaiah 25:8. It offers hope for the future.

Yeah people do die. and I am sorry for there families, but really. The only reason that MJ and FF are so important is because many people know them. But RIP to everyone who dies!!!

here is a list of noteworthy deaths since the first of the month (courtesy wikipedia)

unfortunately, this software will not allow for some types of cancer to be listed as a cause of death in that it sees them as swear words.

the list is put together by wikipedia..

Deaths in 2009 (only june is detailed without further clickable efforts)

i guess i better not list the parts associated with chickens and eggs, either.

Yeah....right-o. People die. So you want a medal for this discovery, Columbus?

What you begrudge people acknowledging someones death? Is that it?
Life is death...every day, we are all closer to it, some closer than others.
When you die, you may hope that you have made some difference to the world - and whether you like it or not, you leave an imprint on where and when you have lived. In someones heart.

IFB, last night I tried to write an explanation in Farrah's death thread as to why recognizing people's deaths was important. I don't want you to think that your opinion doesn't count, just because it evidently does not agree with the majority of us. We are just trying to help one of our youngsters understand that death comes to all of us, some more quickly than others And we all hope that in our life time, we have given something good back to the world so that when we pass it will be noticed. I know most young people think they will live forever, but just look around the Braingle site. You will find that is not true.

We don't all mean to jump down your throat. But cut us a little slack. When my mother or father, for that matter passed, I didn't expect a big write up in the paper or any coverage on the radio or tv station, but the people who knew and cared about them let their condolences be known. I know that you can be a very sensitive person by your writings in the Writer's Block, but just like when people die, no everyone is aware of this.

Please try to understand what I am attempting to do here. as I am aware of that sensitive side of you that you seem to want to keep hidden from others. And I know I was one of the first to attack you. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to start all of this. Just please, lighten up some. It is nice to show sympathy for the dead, but it is also good to show respect for the living. Hugs, Grayma V

The sound of the wild, but if there is no one there, does anyone hear their howls?

I sort of agree with IFB.

What I dont agree with is when some girl from British Big Brother gets breast cancer and it is all weep weep sob sob...she is paid for her story, the media hype it all up....make doco's etc etc...she makes money...my daughter gets cancer...who wants to know? Does anyone pay her for her story to ensure her family is looked after when she dies? And that's the point. There are millions of people like my daughter whose plight you never hear about....[my daughter hasn't got cancer by the way, that was just an example]

However, when someone in the public eye dies, someone who has effected all of our lives, through the arts, literature and such, they have shaped who we are and therefore it does impact on our lives. As for MJ, you hear a certain song and it takes you back to a certain moment in your life...
