Wow, that was quick! I just signed up to play and couldn't even make a post as it went right into the first round of the game. Hello everyone!

Hey, Froggy! It's good to see you in the game.

Yay! The game has started!
Take all sorrow out of life and you take away all richness, and depth, and tenderness. The capacity of sorrow belongs to our grandeur. It is the furnace that melts hearts together in love.

Thanks Stewie for the PM about the game. Great to see you again Witty!
Can I ask why you have already voted for SEPTILLION, CHRISTA? Hardly anyone has posted yet and it just seems odd that you would already make a vote without giving a reason why. We still have over 40 hours in which to discuss who our Cowboys may be.

Hey glad to be here, I was shot first round last game for suspicious inactivity so I'll try to be active. Yet, it is AP week here in the US, so I have three very important tests as well as tennis. But I'll make you my this priority after those two, right above family, friends, and eating . I'll wait to here Christa's explanation, it may be a friendly rivalry, however, even so it isn't good to get a rivalry out in the first round. I know when Mocha and I play I don't vote for her unless I'm very suspicious in the late rounds, and if I were a wolf I'd leaver till the end, it makes for better bragging rights that way ;). But anyways I'm rambling.
I'd also like to say hey to Smithy and Radioguy. I've missed you guys, how've you been? I haven't really had the pleasure of talking to you two lately
Shaidar!! How are you? It would be nice to catch you in Braingle Chat sometime.
Finally the game starts. I've noticed that CHRISTA has already voted without giving a reason. Hmm...

How. Welcome to tribe, Shaidar the Brave. Me glad to see you arrive safely, with paleface men attacking us. We must have a pow-wow.
At last, battle begin! Running Nose snot going to wait any longer to find and scalp paleface men!
Hmm, Running Nose see that Christa think she find paleface so soon. Me see why she think so?
I will now resume lurking silently.

Ok, game is here. I am here. Let's start.
Of course, AP tests are here and I have a calc final, so activity may be a little lower, but I'll still try my best to get on once or twice a day!

So any ideas? Should we do a fish vote?
Shaidar, your name sounds familiar. Is that from the Wheel of Time?

Hey all.....finally underway. I agree that it looks very odd for someone to vote without posting a reason. Something to keep an eye on.

Sounds like we're already getting snappy around here.
But I admit, it does makes a person look really suspicious when they vote and don't post why. But still, I've noticed that she's only played 3 Werewolf games so far. Inexperience? Or wolfy? Hmm......
I'll wait to vote.

I don't like people voting without posting or without a proper reason, but it's so common in the game, especially the opening round, that it's barely worthy of suspicion. I won't vote for Christa for now but if I have nothing else to go on before the end of the round I might.

Ironically, this leads to me accusing you of "not having a good reason to vote someone off" and seeming pretty wolfish.

I agree with Smithy - but also agree with ICUB42's post about inexperience. This is my guess to why Christa voted for SEPT without posting why. I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon. This is no proof that she's a wolf, and it could be a good excuse for the wolves to pounce if they see others going for her. I'll vote soon, but not yet. There's still time.

Well things are certainly starting to look interesting... A few ideas floating around... And some accusations too, it will be interesting to see how this game expands out...

I don't think that Christina is a wolf. A wolf would be cautious and wary enough to not vote without good reason to. I think that this is just a novice move, so I'm going to vote for someone else. Who though, well I have 20+ hours to decide

I don't think it's wolfish wanting to vote for someone who voted for you without even bothering to give a reason. It wouldn't be wise for us to jump on the bandwagon, but I don't think it's suspicious septillion himself starting one. It wasn't like he did it unprovoked to a new player. Not to say I think he's human, just that I don't think his actions are worthy of a vote yet.
I don't think rex is suspicious either as, given the way christa has played so far, he might well be right. If he isn't, it's up to Christa to defend herself and join in the debate.

Wow. A lot of posts to go through since I posted. There's still 24 hours before the votes are due, so I'm going to take some time and read all the posts so far. I'll be back later with my thoughts.

As for right now, there's really nobody to suspect so I'll prolly wait to cast a vote.

I won't be online tomorrow, so I will have to vote for someone in the next 4 hours?

Hmm, with all the distraction of Christa and Septillion, I suspect that the wolves are just sitting back and laughing.
I don't think either of them are wolves, so Im going to continue to wait before making a decision.
Stewie, will we learn the identity of the deceased after each round?

Oh yeah... Good question there jtrolley...
I forgot to mention to those who have never played in any of my games... that...
YES I will be revealing the ID's of the players.... It makes for a more interesting game and it makes the game more even to give the humans a better chance. Because most of the time withouth the ID's being revealed the humans are at a disadvantage...
So Yes.. I will be revealing the ID's... Thanks for bringing that up jtrolley....

I find it interesting that jtolley and rexlamos have both jumped out to almost proclaim Christa not-a-wolf, when no real accusation has really been made of her... Of course, this is just the first round, but it IS interesting.
As for now, I'm not sure what to vote. I will read some more, and hopefully I will be able to get online later today. I've been very busy as an Audio-Visual Team member with rehearsals for a huge school concert all week, and now the concert itself later today... And this is just the start! Next, graduations...

I understand what ICUB said - inexperience. I don't know if I'll vote ofr her or not because if that's the reason we just gotta teach her a lesson. And I don't understand how suspicious my reactions are to Pope. Or maybe Pope is trying to defend her? I don't know. Those are just normal reactions, which are understandable. Everyone reacts like that. For now I won't vote for anyone but if the voting list remains like that I just pray that hopefully I won't be shot.

One thing I try to do in the game is look out for subtle wolf tactics... obviously a wolf would usually want to stay under the radar, not attracting too much attention and, thus, not garnering too much suspicion. However, they have to balance that with not being deemed "inactive", a felony often worthy of a shooting from the masses.
One thing to look out for, then, is people posting reasonably often but without actually contributing anything substantial to the game in the way of theories or suspicions... there's a few people guilty of this so far in the game, but that might just be because it's the first round and there isn't, to be fair, much information to go on hitherto.
I should be around near the end of the round; if the votes are still balanced as such I will tip the scale towards christa, as I don't think septillion has done anything deserving of being shot already - even though, given christa's possible intentions, a quick exit might be exactly what she wants.

Yes some people post without actially contributing to the game, which is one strategy of the wolves. This prevents them to contribut help to the humans, avoid letting people think that they're inactive, and to let people think that they are 'contributing'.
If Christa only did that for the sake of the award I think I'll just shoot her because she won't contribute anyway but as I have said if it was just a mistake we can correct her I am just praying to be shot very early in the game.

Ummm...if there were no accusation of her, then why are there votes for her?
The reason I do not think that it is christa is because a wolf wiould be not so overtly obvious. I think that she is either a noob and just made a mistake or she is just getting the award. She's likely turning into another braingle01 since she hasn'e even bothered to come on and defend herself.
Because of that, Im not going to vote for her, but if she has nothing to contribute I won't mind seeing her get shot anyway.
HOWEVER, I do agree smithy's statement about unhelpful activeness. Froggy and snowmonster jump out as fitting this descriptor. Both of their names have been around the block, but what have they said yet?
hm, I guess I'll vote snowmonster for lack of a better reason than that. Froggy seems slighlty more active at least.
edit: On second thought I change that. I vote froggy instead, She said she'd be back on later with her thoughts, yet didn't bother to post them in her next post. froggy, I swear that this is not a revenge shot, but it's just where my suspicion is at right now.
Edit 2: Hmm, on second second thought ( ) when froggy was a wolf she was much more vocal about suspicions in the first round...of course that is what caused her to get into trouble and be shot, but her game now isn't paralleling that yet...so I guess I'll change back to snow.
My head is turning into mush. AP tests are going to kill me!

You finally chose me! I'm so flattered! Well, not really. I'm not a wolf. I haven't posted a lot so far because this week has been kinda weird for me. Had my youngest home from school a couple days, with being sick, and then school functions have had me on the run. . . so I haven't had a chance to think about posting a lot. Besides, this is the first round. . . so there's really not much to say, yet. Pointing at peeps that haven't posted a lot in Round 1, when there's not much to go on . . . is wolfish in itself. So. . . . keep this in mind fellow players. I think there's way too much talk about Christa's vote going on. What's the point . . . . . . at this point. If she's just in the game for the award, her inactivity will show. If she voted early without reason, then evidence of that will surface. If she voted early without reason, because of her lack of experience. . . . . this will become evident. I think in time, we'll get an idea of why she did it. It's not pertenant to vote her out now. . . she could very well be a human. There are more wolves than 1 in this game anyway. So. . . why all the talk about one persons suspicious vote. Her vote could mean a number of things. . . I'm willing to wait and see if the true meaning of her early post is revealed.
So . . . . . . I'm not focusing on Christa at the moment. No solid evidence against her. So why bother. I will more than likely vote for someone that hasn't been voted for yet. . .. maybe Daffidd. Just to get a vote in. No suspicion of him at all.

Take all sorrow out of life and you take away all richness, and depth, and tenderness. The capacity of sorrow belongs to our grandeur. It is the furnace that melts hearts together in love.

Alright, thanks snow, that makes sense. Sorry I had to vote for you, but it's just the most suspicious right now.
Why can't I help but think that your bold faced writing is a retalitation to my vote? Well, I'm no wolf either, but any suspicion is better than no suspicion. Besides, I'm not voting for you because you haven't posted, but merely because you HAVE BEEN MIMICKING WHAT OTHER PLAYERS HAVE SAID WITHOUT ADDING MUCH ORIGINAL INPUT, AND THAT IS WOLFISH BEHAVIOR. KEEP THAT IN MIND FELLOW PLAYERS! ( sorry, snow, but it was too easy!)
but your willingness to look past Christa is very non-wolfish behavior. but perhaps you could just be laying low...GAH, I don't know what to think. Brain = Mush right now!

I'm not looking past Christa, just putting her vote on the back burner, so to speak. What I'm saying and what I tried to say before. . . . . . is that at this point, we cannot determine why she voted the way she did. . . but in the future, more about this vote of hers, and future votes/posts from her should paint a clearer picture of whether she's human or wolf. . . whether she's just in the game for the reward or not. . . . see?!

With the fact that this is round 1 and there is nothing terribly obvious to go on, I will put in a fish vote for WittyKitty. There certainly has been a few defensive posts but nothing that strikes me as overly suspicious.
Hope we get lucky and nab a wolf!

When I made my comment about "unhelpful activeness" I defintiely had froggy in mind, too. However Froggy is a very experienced and valuable player, so I don't want to take the risk in going for her so early on in the game, just in case she happens to be a human. It's not enough to go on to take out a potentially very helpful asset.
Of all the people with votes so far, the most deserving (indeed, the only deserving) of any suspicion is christa for the phantom vote. Indeed, as snowy said, it's not much to go on, and could be for a number of reasons aside from being a wolf, but the first round is pretty much a lottery anyway, so we may as well take out an unhelpful, inactive player rather than someone who is contributing. Thus, my vote goes to christa.

Alright, all fair assessments. I think Christa is a very unhelpful human and people percieve that as wolfish. However, I can't in good conscience vote for a person I believe is human.
Muh...Christa will likely go but this round's voting is going to reveal some things in future rounds for sure!

I've read through everything and am voting for SEPTILLIONGOLDS. It seems like it's pretty much a guessing game at this point, but I try to always listen to my gut

jtolley, yes I did say that I would be back to post after dinner, but I ended up being quite busy with an unexpected real life issue. My big hearted daughter paid $50 to rescue a friend's dog (friend moved and left dog with mom who took it to the SPCA a week or so ago) because it was going to be put down today. After a family discussion, we said it would be okay as she only wanted to save the small lap dog and then put an ad in the paper for a free dog. She arrived home with the dog at close to 8 pm. So last night was spent trying to oversee how our cat (King of the house) would react to this small dog. Turns out the dog is afraid of the cat - cat is twice the dog's size and follows it around and then has stare offs with the dog. Toss in a 4 year old who thinks the dog is his dog and a son and daughter who have fallen for the dog. So, yes, I was quite busy last night!
Now, as to the game at hand. In my second post of the game, I asked, "Can I ask why you have already voted for SEPTILLION, CHRISTA?". I have not played many games where someone pops in and votes in the first few minutes of the first round of a game, without any kind of reason for doing so. I see that she has not replied to my, or others, who have asked the same question. I also note that it is mentioned that she has not played many games and is therefore inexperienced. It has also been suggested that she is only trying to join games in order to win the TWG award.
I can also understand why SEPTILLION took the stance he did when he was the one she voted for which has now turned into a tie of three votes for each of them. I am not defending him, just stating an opinion.
As to people not posting contributing ideas in the first round, there really isn't a lot to base a vote on in the first round of any game - with or without wolf questions and answers. It is a bit later in the game when this type of posting should arouse more suspicions, not in the first round. However, CHRISTA'S lack of a response to those who questioned her vote, and lack of posting at all, is leading me to vote for her. Even if she is inexperienced, I would think she would at least explain her vote and try to defend her actions since they have been questioned. If she is this inactive in the first round, I have to ask myself if she will continue to be inactive throughout the game. I have been in a few games where the inactives have actually helped the humans lose a game by not voting when it was down to the wire and the wolves simply ate the actives first, leaving the inactives for very easy (and unchallenged) last round meals. For this reason, I am voting for CHRISTA.
SMILE and people will wonder what you are up to!

I find this post very suspicious. I don't understand why you would put someone on what was at the time a joint majority without any real reason, given that there are other things to go on. If it was a "guessing game", why try to condemn one player? If Christa does get shot it will be quite interesting to see her identity, as this seems like one player trying to save another.
Froggy: As I said when I first raised the point, I'm aware there's not much to go on in the first round so a lack of substance in posts isn't too suspicious at this point, hence why I didn't vote on that notion. It's just something to be wary of in future rounds.

Okay. I'm here. I've been trying to keep up with the reading, but I haven't had much time to post. Real life has been insanely abnormal and busy lately.
After reading through, I would have to say that jtolley strikes me as being the most wolfish. His flip-flopping could be due to AP tests (which are no fun), but he hasn't really contributed much. He seems set on the fact that Christa is just an unhelpful human. I'm not saying that she isn't, but he just can't seem to try finding answers without factoring that in. However, I do realize that this is the first round, and it's harder than the following rounds. My vote is going for jtolley, though, since I don't have anything else to go on.

Has anyone noticed that iluvgum hasn't said anything this round? Did she forget that she was in a Werewolf game? She hasn't posted yet this round, and she was on yesterday. So far, the only time she's posted was in round #0. She said: "I'm in "
Everybody else has posted this round. So to me, this is suspicious. Voting for iluvgum.
ICUB42: I as in me. C is to notice. U, not you, someone else. B for be. 4 is for fore. And 2 should be too.

I was short on time when I lasted posted (and also am now), but I'll try to answer jtolley's question. What I was trying to say was that there is no actual evidence against CHRISTA, just first-round punches at her for doing something some people see as suspicious, including myself. I just found it interesting that jtolley and rexlamos were coming to CHRISTA's aid, even though no real accusations were brought up (e.g. "I KNOW Christa is a wolf!!!" or "Christa must be a wolf, and here's why I think so..."). After all, it's only the first round.
Since the round is nearly over, I will have to cast a vote before going to work. Since I haven't had enough time to read all the posts and decide whether or not I should hop on anyone's bandwagon or not, I decide to vote for the first slightly suspicious person to me. This happens to be ICUB42, because she is voting for someone merely because they are inactive. Certainly that's more of an explanation than Christa has given for her vote, but I have been in one too many Werewolf games where wolves directed suspicion toward inactives to lighten the odds of survival. No hard feelings.
I will now resume lurking silently.
