Soloist:
Alarm goes off at seven and you start up-town.
You put in your eight hours for the powers that have always been.
(Sing it child)
'Til it's five-pm...
Company:
"Then you go..."
Downtown
Where the folks are broke. You go
Downtown
Where your life's a joke. You go
Downtown
Where you buy a token. You go...
Home to Skid Row.(x2)
"Yes you go..."
Downtown
Where the cabs don't stop.
Downtown
Where the food is slop.
Downtown
Where the hop-heads flop in the snow...
Down on Skid Row.(x1)
Uptown you cater to a million jerks.
Uptown you're messengers and mailroom clerks.
Eating all your lunches at the hot-dog carts.
The bosses take your money and they break your hearts.
Uptown you cater to a million whores.
You disinfect terrazzo on their bathroom floors.
Morning's tribulation, afternoon's a curse
And five o'clock is even worse
"That's when you go..."
(Downtown)
Audrey: Where the guys are drips.
(Downtown)
Audrey: Where they rip your slips.
(Downtown)
Audrey: Where relationships are no go.
Down on Skid Row. (x4)
Seymour:
Poor, all my life I've always been poor.
I keep askin' God what I'm for.
And he tells me, "Gee, I'm not sure."
"Sweep that floor, kid!"
Oh! I started life as an orphan,
A child of the street, here on Skid
Row! He took me in gave me shelter
A bed, crust of bread and a job.
Treats me like dirt, calls me a slob,
Which I am...
So I live
(Downtown)
Seymour: That's your home address, you live
(Downtown)
Seymour: When your life's a mess, you live
(Downtown)
Seymour: Where depression's just status quo.
(Down on Skid Row.)
Seymour: Someone show me a way to get outta here.
'Cause I constantly pray I'll get outta here.
Please won't somebody say I'll get outta here.
Someone gimmie my shot, or I'll rot here!
(Downtown)
Show me how and I will, I'll get outta here.
(There's no rules for us)
(Downtown)
I'll start climbin' up hill and get outta here.
('Cause it's dangerous)
(Downtown)
Someone tell me I still could get outta here.
(Where there rainbow just doesn't show)
Someone tell lady luck that I'm stuck here!
(When you get...)
(Downtown)
Seymour and Audrey:
Gee it sure would be swell to get outta here.
Bid the gutter farewell and get outta here.
I'd move heaven and hell to get outta Skid.
I'd do I don't know what to get outta Skid.
But a hell of a lot to get outta Skid.
People tell me there's not a way outta Skid.
But believe me I gotta get outta Skid
Row!

Welcome to the first day of auditions! As you were coming in, I was playing the opening number for the show. In it, we are introduced to our main characters, Seymour and Audrey. This song is a great example of the range of parts I will be looking to fill, so thought it would suit our needs both as an introduction to the show and a good number to start working with. For this round, I'm looking for some to play the two homeless people that wander the streets. One of these people I will be casting from the recommendations of the whole cast (shoot) and the other will be suggested by my favoreds.
Act I
A voice "not unlike God's" recalls a time when the human race "suddenly encountered a deadly threat to its very existence". A trio of 1960s street urchins named Crystal, Ronette, and Chiffon set the scene ("Little Shop of Horrors") and comment on the action throughout the show. Seymour Krelborn is a poor young man, an orphan living in an urban skid row. Audrey is a pretty blonde with a fashion sense that leans towards the tacky. They lament their stations in life and seek a life away from the urban blight ("Skid Row (Downtown)"). They are co-workers at Mushnik's Skid Row Florists, a run-down flower shop owned and operated by the cranky Mr. Mushnik.

Just hoping the singing lessons my mother paid for pays off. I really am pretty good, if I do say so myself,
Meanwhile SPV for froggy.

Yay, game (musical) on! SPV-ing...
Sorry, nothing to see here folks, keep moving.

Yay for the auditions starting!
Are we all just going to SPV and let the random selection happen?
Not going to vote yet, as I want to see if anyone comes off as a weaker actor who needs to be relegated to the role of a homeless person in this show...

So the auditions have started.... Me, me, me, me... *clears scratchy throat*
At this early stage in the game, there's really nothing to go on so I'm putting out a vote for nicats.

Random vote for I don't know who yet.
The faster I type in my password, the more secret agent-y I feel.

I feel like we can be more productive than everyone SPV-ing. That being said, I think it should be a group decision how.
Normally I go for inactives first, but with an active game, we don't have to. xD However, Limer and Jervis are the only ones not to comment so far, though both have logged in today.
I am holding my vote to see what happens.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Random vote for bradon to start with.
I logged on in the day before the audition entry closed and have just woken up to this wondrous day. I am thinking that although some people have voted already, they've not given a reason, I think one of these individuals are better suited to the casting of a solo homeless person. If mocha is to cast the lead roles, they should go to people who work well in a team to make the production run smoothly. I for one hope to triumph over one of mochas favourites, I will show her that I am a much better candidate for the lead. Sorry Shaidar, my eye is also on Seymour.
Correction: no everyone has given a reason. It didnt look like there was as many posts as votes. Hmm. I will have to go with keeping my random vote for now. I too believe it is wasteful to be casting people at random, we need to look at how people are acting *pun intended*. Some of us have way more talent than others. *looks at tukus*
Lol, as I type i am hearing voices about the auditions commencing. 🙉

Haha, I logged in before the round started :noway: And my connection is far too unreliable here (barely loading Google on one bar of cell service here at the restaurant to do a real audition (don't want my voice to sound like it is cracking in the shoddy reception xD). I am thrilled, THRILLED, to see this game started and look forward to out-singin... I mean, seeing... more of you as the game goes on. Let's go prove that Britain's not the only Br to have talent... ON THE NEXT SHOW OF BRAINGLE'S GOT TALENT!
Now that everyone has shown up, I wanted to let you know how the rehearsal groups were divided. I assigned you groups based on the order that you joined the game, so it really is random which roles wound up in each rehearsal group. Remember, you may have all three of my favoreds in one group, or they might be distributed equally.
Rehearsal Group A:
Faith
Froggy
KM
Limerick
Slammn
Rehearsal Group B:
dcf
nicats
shaidar
TanCW
tukuwakatiki
Rehearsal Group C:
bradon
buu
El
jervis
Skybet

Yes, I would prefer that we actually make a decision together, rather than either a random casting, or one person deciding to add a second vote and getting someone shot at the last minute...
I've heard conflicting opinions lately about whether or not SPV is even a real thing (some say that the Seer can Divine someone and still vote the same way everyone else does)... So I'm still not 100% sure that SPV is a real thing (didn't know it even existed until I was told about it, and then was told it's not valid)...
For now (because I need to go to bed and then work in the morning), I will vote for Skybet (who voted for me)... Mainly because Skybet doesn't already have a vote (so I'm not being that person who casts the 2nd vote to shoot someone)...

Hmm seems we are heading for a MoO. Which doesn't help anyone.
Please cast me I think Skid Row is possibly my favourite song in the movie!
Voting someone in a majority to liven things up and what follows will help us in later rounds.

Jervis, can I call you Jarvis? I do in my head already. Plus, when I read what you post I read it in J.A.R.V.I.S.' voice (Iron Man)... xD
Faith, I really hate SPV and the way it was explained to me did not makes sense with the rules, so I am against it. But, we also don't have any leads as of now or any inactives (though I'm not complaining on that front). I am a bit *insert sigh as an adjective* right now. But I will be sleeping when the round ends, which means I need to vote now. I also want a majority, but since Skybet's vote was creating a random majority, I will start another, which, unless people change while I am sleeping, will give both a chance at staying alive. I'm gonna vote for nicats mostly based on the reason that I had to go to the list to see who she voted for and she had no explanation of her vote, not even an SPV explanation.
I am going to bed now, after this long day of out-shinning all of you at auditions

@skybet: isn't skid row supposed to be a rock band and not a song?
and i am pretty sure i will take the lead role. i have never acted in my life before and you professionals don't stand a chance against raw talent like mine. bwahahahaha

So we have 2 minor majorities on kmrutledge and nicats. I will make a third. Although excited about being here Limerick has not contributed a vote for anyone. So I will give limerick another vote and let the three of them fight it out. Break a leg.

El-what's-his-name's two cents:
So far, we have one non-voter, and one mute voter. Limerick, the non-voter, receives the benefit of the doubt from me, since I know him to be a strong and active player, and isn't typically given to forgetting/refusing to vote. He's posted, so we know that he's at least present. I, myself, have forgotten to vote on one occasion. Just one, though. It's never good to make that a habit. Ergo, this is his one freebie.
On the other hand, nicats voted but has been the only one of us to have said nary a word. I consider it a courtesy, even if only SPV'ing, to take a moment to let everyone know that you're here. For her not to have done so bothers me more than not voting at all. (Not in a wolfish way, mind.)
My vote will fall upon her this round, and with an hour left, makes her the prime shooting candidate. If anyone should disagree with this union of nicats and the silver bullet, let them speak now, or forever hold your peace.

Tukus, yes I actually pronounce jervis as jarvis. Though I like e's more than a's.
Okay, so, I have been thinking about dynamics a bit... And I think I have come to the conclusion that the Stage Manager should first steal the notes regarding the other members of their rehearsal group barring some rather significant suspicion outside. This could presumably be a safe, wolf free zone to create a base from. Possibly even create a group of solidarity if all members are of a non-lupine variety. In 4 rounds, we could potentially have a Rehearsal Group Against Drunk Werewolves (RGADW) program up and running. A valuable use of this traveling company's resources, I think.
As for votes, to my knowledge, the Seer has to vote in order to divine, but who they vote for is unrelated to who they divine. The concept of an SPV stems from this. Let's say for instance, the Seer is on at the beginning of the round and is unsure whether they will be back. They are going to be, by necessity, more urgent about placing a vote, especially in round 1, because they will lose a divination if they don't vote. Thus, logically speaking, the first people to vote are relatively more likely to be the seer. Not much, hopefully, because hopefully most people can get back and this doesn't even matter. But an SPV causes early votes in the round to cover this and, overall, encourages everyone to vote early. Honestly, it doesn't bother me too much, I will usually do it in the early stages because it doesn't hurt and my vote is always subject to change. My SPV is never locked in. So, honestly, I am a fan of the concept. That said, I am not a fan of SPV votes at the end of round 5, for instance. Even at the end of round 1 really, I am hoping people take the time to figure things out a bit.
Okay, back to rehearsal. So far, I am not seeing much favoritism from Mochs, she is doing a good job of hiding it so far, so not much to go on there. Some people might think of casting me as a Homeless person due to my beard, and I would probably do a decent job, and I have no singing voice, so, it might be a mercy to you all, but I love to sing, so, I hope you soften your heart a bit, buu, and don't cast me I want a major singing role! And I too think these random votes are silly, at least wait to listen to their voices first! See them act and then decide!
Little town, it's a quiet village!
Every day, like the one before!
It's a... (Bear necessity, simple bear necessity... I am far too into this xD)
Alarm goes off at seven and you start up-town.
You put in your eight hours for the powers that have always been.
(Sing it child)
'Til it's five-pm...
Though this round looks to be ending at 12:10 pm my time, it will be about 5pm in England...
Is Mochs favouring our British friends so heavily?
Okay, on a more serious note, I am not happy with a random shot from a MoO vote as there is 4/5 chance it will get a human. Only problem is, the people with the power and knowledge to group together are Mocha's precious children... So, I am a bit wary of an early majority since it is easy for the wolves to jump on and get a human shot... And MoO isn't exactly a wolf's favourite thing either... Right now, only real vote that is potentially revealing is Skybet, but... It is a bit hard to read right now.
Also, Mochs, some clarification needed, can the already cast members talk in the rehearsal groups? Just wondering how that works since it makes the Stage Manager significantly more powerful being able to reveal their finds AFTER being cast, perhaps even problematically so come end game.
Okay for my vote, although we lack much to go on, I am leaning toward one of our majority formers. The way I see it, unless you have a really good reason to vote for someone... The 1 in 5 chance of shooting a wolf doesn't improve by you specifically choosing that 1 in 5 chance... In fact, it creates cover for the wolves to do the same. A wolf protection vote, you could say. We obviously need majorities, but we also need considered majorities.. That said, since they didn't have the majority voting pattern to vote on... And really had nothing, this is grasping at straws a bit...
Okay, looking deeper... So far, I find kmr an unlikely candidate for wolf due to her unsureness about who to vote for, wolves tend to be rather decisive in voting patterns due to the fact that they know who is who. I also find people giving reasons they should be cast sligggghtly less suspicious as I find the wolves to be generally more predatorily focused rather than round focused, still, no strong clears here. I am leaning a medium clear on Faith as it is rather unlikely for a wolf to be thinking at a level to be challenging the validity of an SPV, after all, they don't really care who gets shot as long as it is not one of them.
Okay, tukus, you are hilarious, ridiculous, but hilarious...
Tukus... I will also be giving a weak clear to, she seems to be paying a good deal of attention to the voting, at this point, it doesn't generally matter a whole lot who gets voted for to the wolves, only the actual majorities, so, paying attention to who specifically Nicats voted for strikes me as unnecessarily deep for a favored actor.
Hmm, hmm...
Still not really close to a real decision, 40 minutes left.
3 people sit unvoted for: Faith, shaidar, and tukus.
Now, my general theory is that since the wolves have the knowledge, the most likely to hold off votes in the first round SPV carnage are the wolves themselves. As such, with a medium clear on faith and a weak clear on tukus, and the fact that I find it suspicious to see so little from Shaidar, as much as I would hate to see him homeless.. I am also leaning that way.
Okay, reading back, my vote goes to Skybet. Maybe a bit arbitrary, and maybe some of you agree, but, I don't buy the logic against an MoO vote. The only ones it leaves particularly vulnerable are the wolves, otherwise it is mostly random anyway. People aren't even citing gut instinct, just random votes. So how is your majority better than any other?

I'm pretty sure it's a real thing, at least as long as it hasn't changed since last time I was the seer (like 3 years ago ) the seer cannot choose to divine someone unless they've put in a vote. So the SPV puts out votes there to protect the seer from having to put out a random suspicious vote early on. Also there is the other limitation that you cannot divine the person that you are voting for, and that if the person you divine gets shot then you get nothing.
That said I'm not going to change my vote to join either of the majorities, it'd be pretty pointless at this point and it seems ya'll have already settled on Nicats and I've no reason to go against that.

Okay, that is really suspicious to me...

I do not see a real reason for these two vote changes... And am highly skeptical of them. I am thinking jervis may have changed to me due to my relative lack of posting? But, I don't see a reason for the change from a MoO to another MoO... Without justification, I find that lacking (I am obviously biased...) Second, to form a solid 3 majority? I find that... questionable. I am now leaning heavily in both of their directions.
Watching this closely.

Limerick, I did post a comment regarding my switch, if you'll kindly view my post above your long one. Both jervis and I did, in fact. It must be that we both posted and switched while you were composing your, err... novel there.

The SPV is not pointless... its a vote for round one since no one is suspicious yet. I will just post the definition so it makes sense..
The seer needs to place a vote during the day in order to divine someone at night. Everyone places a SPV so the seer can vote as well to make sure they will be able to divine someone. (Since in wwg, you technically don't have to vote).
Just in this themed game, I don't think it will help since we are trying to vote together.
I would be good as Audrey because I have a good singing voice!! AND I can dance.... Plus come on, I'm the star of the show!!!!
May the odds be ever in my favor. ;)
