Psych Question: Ok boss. What is your favourite book.
Psych Answer: artemis fowl
Sorry for not doing it the more conventional way but it is up now.
Story: As Stewie left the room everyone walked up to the buffet. *Everyone was in shock* there was fancy silverware and every type of food you could thiink of. Everyone even had a seat reserved with their names carved on a golden plaque. This was truly a Dinner fit for a king.
Shocked with how well everything was planned and set up, everyone sat down in their seats... Well almost everyone. Camillee, cinnamon30, LogicalRoger and tahomac realised that they forgot to wash their hands, so they told everyone not to start the meal till they came back, everyone agreed to wait for them... Upon exiting the room the went right, and down the hall. Everyone was chit-chatting away while waiting for them to return. When suddenly there was a bone chilling scream. Sveryone got scared. What was that, Froggy(legs) said, I don't know, but whatever it was, it did not sound like anything good, replied ka-ching.
I think we better go and see what happened said Smithy. Everyone nodded their head in agreement. Upon entering the hallway they saw the bloodied bodies of their neighbourhood friends. Caberet walked up to the bodies for a closer look. Guys you might want to have a look at this. Everyone gathered around the bodies and they discovered a knife in tahomac's back.
Who cuold have done such a horrible thing, Smithy said. Stewie, it has to be stewie. He is the only one who is missing. Everyone agreed that stewie was a murderer, but where had he gone too? No one knew. Upon further notice there was no sign of 4wheels for that matter. Something strange was happening and there was an eerie feeling around the town centre..
Tahomac,cinnamon30, LogicalRoger and camillee. were all employees.
Stewie.

The firings definitely clear brainyboy.
The boss made the all too common your/you're mistake in the memo.
Voting for the player that didn't post last round yet is still with us.

As per my post last round, voting 4wheels, same as Cab.
I guess I'll go along... 4wheels

Well, even from what 4wheels posted last round, we know she is either Rat or Boss. It's worth finding out which. Voting 4wheels.
This round would be a good time to join the majority. 4wheels looks very suspicious. At least for now, safety vote with the mini-majority.
BTW - There was some discussion last round re. the minimum number needed for a firing/clearing.
The rules state that the boss will be fired if they receive over 50% of the votes. Round 1 of a 20 player game will have a maximum of 18 votes. If everyone votes, then >9, or 10 votes are required. 11 would be a rat-proof majority. The vote of the boss does not count, since if they're voting for someone, then obviously that player is not the boss.
We now have 16 players remaining. We have to assume that the rat is still with us, so we have a maximum of 14 votes. 8 actual votes make a majority, 9 rat proofs things.
At least this is how I understand things.

I think I get it. We'd need over 50% to fire the boss, but less than that will help us clear whoever the majority was on. If it turns out that no one from that majority was fired, and it was less than 50%, then more likely than not, that person the majority on is the boss who was lucky enough to survive one more round.
So even if it's a small majority, it will still help us clear someone.
So even if it's a small majority, it will still help us clear someone.
If we have no mandatories, and everyone states a vote, then someone will be cleared if someone is fired. Clearing majorities are only more useful if we have an actual suspect.
Yeah, I'll join in with the 4wheels vote. If she is boss, she deserves to be fired for not posting!
I agree that 4wheels is most likely the boss or rat. I will not vote for 4wheels as people have said I am cleared, and that would probably get me fired. Voting superleaf for no reason other than to just get a vote in so I'm not a mandatory.
Story for this round is finished. Hope you are starting to get into it.

The psych doesn't have too much information in it. I think the Artemis Fowl books are made for teenagers so I think it is someone younger sop I will vote superleaf1 because he is the only teenager besides me in this game.

I think the Artemis Fowl books are geared for pre-teens or even younger. I remember they were pretty popular among my peers when I was in fourth or fifth grade, although I never got past page two myself; and I know my brother (who's ten) read some of them within the past year. This is also gender stereotyping as I warned against, but from what I know, the series is definitely more popular among boys - which is not to say that girls don't enjoy them also, but I don't know of many girls who do and more guys who have.
The fact the Boss gave such a straightforward answer makes me think it's a younger / more inexperienced player. It doesn't even seem as if he/she tried to disguise the demographics - granted, it could be a much older player pretending to be younger, but I will honestly be shocked if any of the older players here have read much less greatly enjoyed Artemis Fowl.
There are Trivia quizzes about the book by: BlobbyMagnet, pandastampede, heroes_13, and coollllkid. None of them are in the game but I'll go through the comments and see. Also no matches in Entertainment forum where book discussions are.

I just went through the quiz comments and I noticed that Wolverine115 posted that he loved the series. I'm going to change my vote to Wolverine115.
Nicely observed, jubu! Hmm, both demographically and concrete-evidence wise, Wolverine seems to be a good fit for the answer. My only concern is that he's a pretty smart and experienced player, so it seems a little odd he'd be so straightforward in giving an answer that by assumption would clear many players...
Voted for Wolverine for now, potential to change

Good work jubu and 4demo. I'm voting Wolverine115.
I also did a search of the forums on Eoin Colfer and Artemis Fowl and came up with nothing. I have to agree with demo that Wolverine is far too experienced of a player to put out an answer that would eliminate so many players and potentially point back at him. However, he is also smart enough to try to pull this off knowing that we would think he wouldn't be so obvious.
For some reason, I just don't think 4wheels is the Boss. Maybe the Rat, but not the Boss. At this point, there are enough votes to clear her or point to her even more if no one is fired who has stated a vote for her. Since it seems we have another small majority forming on Wolverine (demo, joseph, and jubu), I'm going to vote for someone without a vote. I seriously don't think we should have more than one majority at a time because that could give the Boss an out as far as who is on the firing list and is not a madatory fire and not clear anyone.
I'm going to vote for jubu for now to avoid a majority.
Edit: Added joseph to the Wolverine votes in my post. I may come back and change my vote to Wolverine near the end of the round because the quiz comment that jubu found is very compelling - even though it does seem to be too obvious.

I looked up the demographics of Artimis Fowl (I've never heard of it before) and nothing was mentioned about gender. It is aimed at kids (the protagonist is 15) but then so are the Harry Potter series, and we know that plenty of adults (myself included) enjoy HP.
I'll check back to see where the majority is going later.

I considered this too, but it seems there aren't enough players who would fit the answer to frame. Obviously I don't know everybody's book preferences, but from what I know of many players here, I'm fairly confident this wouldn't be their favorite book.
Caberet, the book isn't specifically aimed at a particular gender. I just said that based on my own experiences with people I know who have read and liked the series, it seems to be more popular among boys, not that there necessarily few or no girls who enjoyed it.

Right now, it doesn't look like the psyche question helps us clear anyone. I'm going to change my vote to get out of the majority for 4wheels because I'm less convinced that she is the Boss. Most likely Rat, but less likely Boss.
Vote changed to jubu.

Ok so I just logged on and I find 2-3 mini majorities where none of them are extrememly convincing. I think that the 4wheels case is the most compelling/logical. Voting 4wheels

I have just read all the posts. I have heard of the book, artemis fowl, but have never read it. I did a quick search of all forums and there were only 2 entries for it. Neither are in this game.
I think jubu's find implicating wolverine is interesting but way too convenient. Wolverine is smarter than leaving himself up the creek without a paddle. I will join the majority for jubu42 at this stage.

I read about 3 chapters of Artemis Fowl and didn't enjoy it much. This was in grade 4, and all my friends liked it. I found it kind of juvenile. (Not to offend anyone who has read, and enjoyed the book. Just my opinion.) But mind you, that could have been because I read Lord of the Rings in grade 2... But anyways, I am suspecting 4wheels as the rat, and Wolverine as the boss. However, I don't understand why he would make it so obvious... Maybe someone who enjoyed the book, and saw Wolverine's comment? I don't know.
EDiT: I see hadleigh posted before me. Please can we try to get a bit of a clearer majority, and possibly have everyone stick to it so that we can actually clear some more people, thanks. And I don't really understand how brainyboy is cleared... I thought we didn't have enough votes for him to be. Could someone please clear this up?

Four people who voted for him were all fired. It's very, very unlikely all of them were mandatories (or even one Rat and three mandatories), or they all conveniently went off to form a secret second majority, or whatever you please. If only one or two were fired, there'd be room for doubt, but having that many makes it a pretty safe clearing.

I don't want to turn out in a majority again. It's still too early to decide, so I don't want to get fired, and besides, only 4wheels is the most suspicious, and more likely the rat. Random vote for Smithy.
I am changing my vote to Wolverine115. I don't fully understand the majority on jubu42, and I think we have the most solid evidence for the Wolverine115 vote.
Thank you for clearing it up for me 4demo and Hadleigh

Ugh, I really don't know what I think about all the majorities. It can be an amazing tool to clear perhaps more than one player, but it can also be a deadly, horrible trap to step into. 4wheels has the greatest majority at the moment; I'm staying with 4wheels.
My input on Wolverine is just what Froggy pointed out: too mature a player. The clues all point to a younger person.
I'm sorry I haven't been following as closely as I usually do. On the bright side, though, I finally kicked that history course. So I should be much tighter to this game from now on. Not that I can use schoolwork as an excuse. :/

To me, having three different majorities is giving the Boss more people to choose from to fire. If this is the case, then the firings could actually not clear anyone at all.

I am changing my vote to tinypenguin because this player seems both young enough and suspicious enough to be boss.

Come on everybody! Form a strong majority so that we can clear someone, otherwise we're going to get nowhere.
This is coming a little late to be helpful this round, but in case the firings don't do much in terms of clearings, I don't think 4wheels is the Boss though could be the Rat. On this wiki page (and her wiki doesn't seem to have been updated since the game began), she listed her favorite authors as "Nora Roberts, Jane Austin (Austen?), Terry Goodkind, Dean Koontz, Tami Hong (Hoag?)" and I don't think any of these are much comparable to Colfer. There's also no real reason for why someone who's a trustworthy person in general would lie about favorite authors in a wiki page made awhile ago, and the fact she didn't mention Colfer in that list makes me think she's not a huge fan.
