ROUND 1
Well, I'm not giving clues this game, but perhaps you'd like something to discuss. So, here is a twist on the psych question for you to discuss if you like. If not, just ignore it.
This question is based off of the television show "The Office" (U.S. 2005 - 2013). Would you least like to work for Michael Scott, Jim Halpert, Dwight Schrute, DeAngelo Vickers, or Andy Bernard? For what reason(s)?

Safety for koin.
Last time I was in a game where buu was the boss, he was being very buu-ish in his memo and answer. This one doesn't sound like him. Either he's got better or it isn't him. I think the latter is more probable because it doesn't look like the boss is making an effort not to sound like him/herself.
A few points about the memo and answer (since we don't have any clues, we might as well look at the language):
-I know that I will never be the best boss, but I will do my best to keep this office free of clutter and lazy workers or just the workers that annoy me the most. - 'that' can be omitted, but the boss chose not to do so.
-DeAngelo Vickers because (nothing??) knows he's no replacement for the world's best boss - but he's determined to bring his best game from the get go so that maybe, just maybe, he can help the Scranton branch to reach new heights - if the missing pronoun was not accidental, then it's probably a peculiarity of the boss's idiolect. Another word that can be omitted is the 'to' after 'help' (since both the bare and to-infinitive forms are acceptable after 'help').

I don't think the boss has ever seen The Office. The character only lasted four episodes, making me think a real Office fanatic would not have chosen him. Using "Scranton branch" in th memo also makes me think they did a quick google search.
At first I thought the grammatical errors were just mistakes, but thinking more about it, something could be there...
Safety for buu.

According to wikipedia, Di-whats-his-face is described like this:
...anyone know anybody who acts like that? You can't lie in the psych question so yeah.

Deangelo is widely regarded by the Dunder-Mifflin crew as a brash, obstinate and opinionated boss. He is welcomed at first by employees trying to win his favour, but then loses more and more employee respect. His superiors think he is an incompetent as well.

Despite the few grammatical oddities (at least one of which could be due to editing a sentence and not proofreading), I think the Psych answer sounds pretty coherent. Many times, the Boss will refrain from saying anything more than a few words, so I appreciate the effort s/he took here.
Safety vote for GreenApples for now. It'd be a good idea to start clearing people, though, so if we want to start a majority on someone, perhaps we can start with those of us who are unfamiliar with "The Office"?
As to the conversation question, I don't know the characters well enough to say for sure, but I don't think I'd like Dwight. In the few episodes I've seen, he just seems very ineffectual.

That's an excellent observation, one I couldn't have made because I've never really watched the show. Never even heard of the show
I like the idea of a first roud majority. Seconding the GA vote.

Not too sure about being a lemming the first round...especially in an active game like this
Lemme think about it...
Lemme think about it...
I'm just going to throw out a random vote for Elios for now. I'm going to go do my homework, so I'll be back later.
I'll also vote for GA. It's good to clear people has early as we can.
Also jumping on the GreenApples band wagon.
I have watched the show a few times, but never found it very interesting. I guess you have to work in an office to get it.

I suppose I may as well join in as well
Changing to GA
Changing to GA
GA as well. I couldve sworn I posted before...
Can you BELIEVE CG? Stealing my idea like that?
Can you BELIEVE CG? Stealing my idea like that?
Hmm, before the game even started I was intrigued by Blackest Red's writing but it doesn't match the style of the Boss' memo, so that flopped. =P
I've watched quite a lot of episodes actually, but only the earlier seasons, so I know all of the characters EXCEPT for DeAngelo Vickers. I've only seen Andy Bernard and Michael Scott as the boss on the show (Did Jim take over after Steve Carroll left or something?) & while Michael is a tad racist &... odd, he's actually a genuinely nice guy who does try. I hate Dwight & while he kinda grows on you after a while, he'd be a horrible boss XP
I would most like to work for Michael Scott b/c I'd be left alone to do my daily work but he'd bring enough oddity to the job that it wouldn't become boring
I would LEAST like to work for Dwight b/c I've seen an episode or two where he momentarily was in charge & it wasn't pleasant. I don't know DeAngelo Vickers, but he also doesn't sound like someone I'd want to work for.
Okay - Hopefully I wrote enough to (1) continue the sub-conversation and (2) potentially clear me based on my writing style & knowledge of the show.
I will help clear Green Apples by voting along with the majority!
EDIT TO NOTE: The psych question is a direct copy-paste from the NBC "meet the characters" page DeAngelo Vickers
For those who don't want to click the link, here is the NBC's blurb:
Trying to step into Michael Scott's shoes is no task for the timid. Mr. Deangelo Vickers knows he's no replacement for the world's best boss - but he's determined to bring his best game from the get go so that maybe, just maybe, he can help the Scranton branch to reach new heights.
And here is the boss' answer:
DeAngelo Vickers because knows he's no replacement for the world's best boss - but he's determined to bring his best game from the get go so that maybe, just maybe, he can help the Scranton branch to reach new heights
Nothing really new, but obviously the person doesn't know the show, so Babyjuice's definition doesn't reflect on the boss (although excellent job!) But, the person's writing style isn't reflected in the answer b/c they didn't write it!

I dont think GA would copy that from another website, I could be wrong but I dont think so. Switching to babyjuice.
Edit: Would least like to work for Dwight. Hands down. That guy would get on my nerves.

Thank you koin. Give me a little credit. Not once would I ever use words not of my own for a psyche answer. Personally I kind of feel it's cheating the game to do that, since that's not necessarily the boss' own personal opinion. So this majority on me is incredibly wrong...
I will vote fame for now as I don't know him and most people I know I feel wouldn't cheat the psyche answer, because copy and pasting is eliminating any chance for us to analyse the typing etc.
EDIT: As for who I'd most/least like to work for, I've never watched the US Office, only the British (and original may I add ) version, so I'm not sure what the US characters are like.
Also, just noting that fame asked where Yuffie found that, even though she posted exactly where she found it. So either fame is not paying any attention OR he's trying hard to come across as if he's never gone searching for that paragraph which the boss copy and pasted into the psyche answer.

Switching to GA with the majority.

I read through most if not all of the posts, and I agree, even though I've only played a couple of games with GA, he's not the kind of person to do that. I've never seen the Office, so I don't really have any opinion.
I don't think I'll vote with the majority. GA has a good point about fame, I checked the times and yes, Yuffie did edit before fame posted. So, fame does seem suspicious right now, but I'll stick with my vote.

Umm, I'm not sure why everyone is joining on the GA vote. I was trying to suggest we clear someone who claims never to have watched the show; my vote on GA was random (he hadn't even posted when I voted) and I was in fact trying to hint at clearing me.

I'm fine staying with a vote on GA because he's a good player, but is there someone more apt to be suspicious that we should "get out of the way" first?

Plagairism. We're learning about that in English, which literally IS English in Hawaii.
I trust GA, but there's no chance we're going to get a majority on anyone else this round, so I suggest everyone switch to GA to create a majority. At least that's doing something. If both the boss and the rat lied, we do not have a majority at the moment.
BTW, I don't think it's fame. Although I haven't met him before, people under 13 on this site tend not to write in proper English. SirHar is someone with, uh, very strong opinions, so I don't think he'd plagiarise, either.

Probably JQ
Probably JJ
Yuffie might have copied the psych answer, then pointed it out in-game to appear more trustworthy. I would like to clear her at some point, if just to know she can be trusted.

if the i think vote is confirmed, then GA should be cleared. we have 14 stated votes, of which 12 are valid. of that, we need 6 for majority. 9 stated GA, leaving boss and rat, we got 7 on GA. easily cleared

(No offense to the Boss, I just feel a truly honest answer would be in your own words). Plus, I've seen the show & while I don't know DeAngelo, I know I wouldn't pick him to be my ideal boss.
I would love to be cleared but as JQPublic said, there's no way we can get the majority changed this round. I literally selected the boss' answer and googled it - the NBC was the first thing to pop up. I decided to search it b/c I was thinking about what babyjuice had said (about the description of DeAngelo & if it fit any of the players) I thought, why would someone think the way the boss did if the description of the guy was so different, so I Googled it to see if I could find any extra info (forums & whatnot) - that may seem like a weird thing to do, but Googling is kinda my hobby
A few people stick out to me more than others, but I want to think about it a bit more before I start finger-pointing (I don't have any real evidence yet) I will stick with my vote on GA, just because me changing my vote won't really do much at this point.

Last time I was in a game where buu was the boss, he was being very buu-ish in his memo and answer. This one doesn't sound like him. Either he's got better or it isn't him. I think the latter is more probable because it doesn't look like the boss is making an effort not to sound like him/herself.

But just like lying in these games is acceptable, I think disguising your answers behind someone else's words is an acceptable evil. If we want to take this to an extreme, we'd all have to be quoting each other and adding footnotes non-stop.

Copying from another site and then condemning copying is a very dishonest and dishonourable thing to do, so I think anyone who's said she or he would never copy is cleared.

Dont you think thats a little too obvious? Now everyone can go on saying they wont ever copy, and you cant clear them all based only on that. Plus, the boss might be saying they wont copy as well just to cover up and lead a false trail.

Well, thank you, koin! And yes, like others have said, I would never copy and paste. The idea wouldn't even have crossed my mind; especially for this game, using your own words is vitally important.

I know what you mean by that, but I think JQ meant anybody before his post. I agree, though, the boss would say that to cover his/her tracks. However, I know most of the people in this game, and some of them I could never see copying & pasting anything in order to try to win. Like me, the idea would never even cross their mind.
My list of people who I think wouldnt copy:
Elios
Sirhar
Greenapples
Oldcustard
Kitty-cat
Probably JQ
Probably JJ
Yuffie might have copied the psych answer, then pointed it out in-game to appear more trustworthy. I would like to clear her at some point, if just to know she can be trusted.

Thats true. Even i prefer putting down stuff in my words in my own funny style of writing. Am just saying that we cant blindly clear people based only on them saying they wont copy.

Yeah, I don't think the copy/paste thing is a big deal - I really just wanted to point it out so we wouldn't spend any time analyzing the answer in terms of the writing style. I didn't think it matched the memo but now we know for sure
The boss has to answer truthfully and s/he probably did. Reading the NBC blurbs about the characters, DeAngelo does sound like an upstanding, hard-working man. At first I thought maybe the quote was used just to answer the question quickly, but it did take some thought to research the show.

As Buu and Kitty-cat stated, we're not going to get anywhere on the "who copied" tangent. Plus, we aren't on stand at a trial: A little white lie isn't really "dishonorable" - if you've ever played The Werewolf Game you would know that the wolves have to CONSTANTLY lie to stay under the radar. Same thing here. I'm positive none of us would ever actually plagiarize, but in a silly online game, I can see why someone would copy-paste. I think a lot of us wouldn't simply b/c we like to try to be creative with our memos/answers but it's just another strategy that the boss is using.
And, the boss is being FORCED to lie now - can you imagine if we're all saying "I would never" and then someone says "well, I would" That would raise a few flags...
It'll be interesting to see if next round's answer will be copy/pasted as well. If that is the strategy the boss is going with, it certainly will be hard to figure out who it is based on what is written!
The voting for this round already ended, but I just wanted to add to the conversation I think we should definitely take into consideration those who are unfamiliar with The Office. If I have time, I'll try to make a list of everyone whose mentioned if they've seen it or not. People who've seen it could lie and say they haven't, but it wouldn't help in this case since the boss has NOT seen it his/hereslf.

Copying from another site and then condemning copying is a very dishonest and dishonourable thing to do, so I think anyone who's said she or he would never copy is cleared.

Sorry for the Double Post - the other one is too long & this is more relevant to the main discussion, so I don't want people to not look at it
~*~
The biggest clue we have to the boss' identity is that s/he is not familiar with The Office. Listed below are all of the players & their familiarity:
FAMILIAR WITH THE OFFICE - REASON:
koin_era345 – Implied in multiple Posts
Yuffie – Stated in Post
NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE OFFICE - REASON:
Babyjuice – Stated in Post
Blackest_Red - Stated in Post
bookworm4god – In Round 0, Stated in Post
buu441 – Stated in Post
Elios – Stated in Post
GreenApples27 – Stated in Post
JQPublic – In Round 0, Stated in Post
Oldcustard – In Round 0, Stated in Post
SirHar - Stated in Post
NEVER STATED, ONE WAY OR THE OTHER:
fame
Izzie
JJPutz
kitty-cat
Let me know if I missed something, but I skimmed both rounds twice. It seems only Koin and I have seen enough of the show to be familiar with the characters, so that really doesn't narrow much down =/
It does, however, point out the players who've not added to the major discussion. Fame, Izzie, JJPutz & Kitty-cat have posted but only to join the majority vote or talk about the copy-paste issue.
I'm kinda looking at Fame, but it's too early at this point. I just hope I'm still here next round!
