The Black Dahlia
"The Black Dahlia" was a nickname given to Elizabeth Short (July 29, 1924 – c. January 15, 1947), an American woman who was the victim of a gruesome and much-publicized murder. Short acquired the moniker posthumously by newspapers in the habit of nicknaming crimes they found particularly colorful. Short was found mutilated, her body sliced in half at the waist, on January 15, 1947, in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, California. Short's unsolved murder has been the source of widespread speculation, leading to many suspects, along with several books and film adaptations of the story. Short's murder is one of the oldest unsolved murder cases in Los Angeles history.

Hmm no firings . . . boss could have fired 2 in round 1. Memo also tells us almost nothing. The boss is playing it close to the chest. Afraid of giving too much away I guess. Maybe someone unsure of their ability as boss.

.... Were there really no firings? I don't believe I've ever seen that before.
I'm not familiar with the story behind Black Dahlia, but coincidentally enough I did read about the case in the news today. Evidently a cadaver dog found some scent in a house...? (I should pay more attention to things when I read them. )

Or an experuenced boss trying to throw us off in the wrong direction. Bizzare stuation when the boss doesn't fire anyone...
I don't know. Can't make anything from the memo either.

Besides how can the boss possibly win if he/she does not fire anyone? Mandatory firings are usually highest in Round 1, and we had none, I would think that means it is unlikely there will be any as the game progresses, unless by someone not voting by oversight . . . but I could be way off!

I think Stewie is the boss. There were no Mandies last round so that can not be used to hide any clears.
If people voted as stated then Stew voters would have been the lemmings, therefore those would have been on the firing list, all the others would have been random with out general cause for being on the firing list, perhaps it is not the boss not playing smart, perhaps he could not fire 2 people so he did not fire any as to deter the game posts and wonder what the deal with no firings was.
If I were a boss and was given prompts in a game like this I would take the time to research the murders and figure out a correct prompt. Stewie has it in him to be sarcastic and take the prompts to a whole new thought: IE silk stockings, flowers.

Notice the way the statement of what the boss thinks it sounds like is a question, not a statement.
Stewie is NOTORIOUS for typing BooBoos. The spelling may have been corrected but missed the puncutation, Or perhaps, if Stewie is not the boss then the boss has done this without intent and actually made a puncutation error.

Ok LH I see your point, but I think that eventuality isn't the likely option here...
I think what HABS was saying earlier is the most likely option and I was thinking along the same lines when I read it. Shall we at least move to clear someone by majority this round?
EDIT: I sometimes put a lingering question mark at the end of a statement when I'm unsure of what has been asked or what I'm actually saying. I don't think that's too uncommon ?
See what I did there?

Don't think we can read too much into the question mark. We all know Stew makes spelling mistakes, ones he does not tend to fix (if he fixed them we would not know he made them).
I am thinking we may be on the right track with Guam and maybe LH trying to pass the suspicion on to Stew may make her a candidate as rat.
Vote is staying where it is. We need to vote together. I suggest a majority on Guam.

I do agree with Skybet regarding the question mark at the end of the statement, sounds more to me like the murderer is unsure of the meaning of the prompt and is guessing at an answer. It seems to me our murderer is not one to Google unfamiliar things, just answers off the top of their head. As for no firings,(I have seen it happen before), since there were two people with multiple votes, and no mandatories, either Stewie is our murderer or we have a very shrewd player who isn't going to be easy to find. I'm more inclined to think it's the latter. Voting Elios.

Ah Yes, the Typos/BooBoos, I decided long ago that would not bother trying to correct thm.
I have since became norotious from them. If I changed that now, well it just wouldn't be me? It has cost me more games than II can count.

I understand what Longhorn is saying, and it seems worth our time to clear Stewie.
Our options are 1) stewie is boss - which left the Mo3 as our lemmings and nobody on the firing list. 2) One of the following - LH, Slamminggirl, Kajish - is a boss or rat - then this throws the voters of the Mo2 in firing list. The boss did not want to reveal this so s/he fired no one.
I am putting this out there because I don't think either of these scenarios means a young/inexperienced boss.

With 3 possible majority options that the murderer could have used, s/he was very clever in not killing anyone.

I'm leaning more towards an experienced boss than an inexperienced one.
A 1st time Boss would probably fire as many people as possible with the thought of getting that much closer to firing all of us; it's a far-reaching strategy to think not to fire anyone. Although, as has been pointed out, where does that get you? You're eventually going to have to fire someone, and that will mean losing potential scapegoats. However, cleverly & correctly done, that may mean no firings.... So, yeah, our boss is either a first-go prodigy or someone with game experience.
The majority appears to be on guamgirl. While I don't agree with it, I'm willing to throw my lot in to definitively clear someone. Placing my vote for guamgirl12. I'd be happier with a Stewie or Bradon clear, though.

My theory on the firings was not that she is a prodigy but tht the boss didn't know who to fire so didn't fire anyone. No advanced strategy there, just a boss at a loss.
BUT - if Stew is the boss and received the majority of the votes (but not 50% of them) and you can't be fired if you voted for the boss, then wouldn't that mean there was no candidate and there would be no allowed firings?

Whoever gets a majority of the votes is called the Candidate. In the case of a tie, there may be multiple Candidates. Because of Executive Privilege, the Boss is always able to slip out of a tie, leaving the other Candidate with a majority of the votes. If the Candidate is not The Boss, then everyone who voted for the Candidate is called a Lemming.

I was thinking is the boss crazy?
I have played in one other game the boss didnt fire anyone but that was like near the end of the game. I too was thinking someone who is an greenie but after reading all sides it might be some one who knows the firing would point to them. Great deductions sir watson ha.
Gotta vote for someone HABS it is for now.

Ouch.. This is what happens when I fall asleep in the afternoon. But at least I have a good reason for it, I am sick. And now everyone thinks I'm the boss.
Like I said last round, I never heard of the show Silk Stockings, or much less watched it. And just to clarify some people (mainly Habs) one point, Guam is a US territory. Which means we get the same benefits here that people in the states get. Which includes the us postal service and cable. So people may have seen the show here at one time or another. But as a none cable user, I'm not up to date on a lot of the shows that are broadcasted on a regular basis. So, I have not seen Silk Stockings, much less heard of it.
As to the black dahlia... I have never heard of that case before. And I know there is a flower called the Dahlia, but I really don't know that much about it since it is not a flower typically seen on Guam.
I find it interesting that Habs should totally go after me like that. Yes I may not be the most experienced player on here. I like to play the werewolf game more. And if the only evidence against me is that I've played only 8 games, that's very thin... And I smell a rat!
I think the boss is some who is experienced and is trying to throw us off base. Especially with not firing anyone from the last round. I'm going to keep my vote for Jayo. Unless something more concrete comes up.

My thinking you are the boss, was just a theory. I have no idea who it is. But just out of curiosity, why are you bothered by the allegation? If you are not the boss, you have nothing to worry about and you will be cleared.

Ok I am going out on a limb here and saying that buu and kajish will be mandies as they have not posted, I would asume they have not voted.
We have 6 STATED votes for Guam. Regardless if she is or is not the boss 6 votes is not enough for a clear and there is a max of 2 firings this round. Guam will not be cleared this round either way.
The boss could "State" a vote for Guam to make it appear that a player might be cleared and that they are helping the masses by forming a majority, but at same time knowing that the player is not really going to be cleared due to mandi firings and not a true majority.
If you remove the 2 non-voters then you would have 13 players voting. With that number you would need 7 votes to clear Guam but to make a real clear you would actually need 9 votes for a clear if you take into taccount the boss and rat "votes" as they can not vote.
EDIT to ADD: Kajish has not been on in 2 days(mandi) buu last logged on yesterday. Depending on the time he logged on there is a good chance he is a mandi as well.
With that there is no chance for a clear on Guam. Looking at that we are at the same place we were last round.....clueless.

Like what you love, and love what you got.

Well, this games isnt looking well so far.
Thanks for doing all that figuring for us LH! Not sure why they would both be active in round 1 but bail on us in Round 2. Normally the inactive players are in the first round.
Hopefully the boss does not make us wait too long for the next round.

Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

Wasted round? Perhaps not. We have an extra memo and pretty much a free round of discussion under our belt now. I certainly have my list of suspects based on this bounty.
It's a shame we have the mandies, but good to trim the fat.
