The Tree
Trick
Trick brain teasers appear difficult at first, but they have a trick that makes them really easy.Trick
A farmer in California owns a beautiful pear tree. He supplies the fruit to a nearby grocery store. The store owner has called the farmer to see how much fruit is available for him to purchase. The farmer knows that the main trunk has 24 branches. Each branch has exactly 12 boughs and each bough has exactly 6 twigs. Since each twig bears one piece of fruit, how many plums will the farmer be able to deliver?
Answer

Excellent teaser. Although, you could have had a harder one by asking how many pears altogether.
The amount of pears would have been 1728 pears.Anyway,Brilliant teaser.

There is a hitch here! Because the word "Fruit" was used in the question, it could become its own entity. I came to the conclusion that the farmer grew a variety of fruit, which included pears. Therefore, the answer could be properly answered by calculating the number of plums.
Laurlah, so how many plums are there?
Ha ha ha! Got me there!
Hmm, pears and plums just jarred with me, so I saw it instantly. I can't think of two fruits that would be more compatible, however...
too easy!
I agree with choog. Its just too easy. A 8 year old got it!
Yeah.. it was kinda easy but the idea was good.
hehe! cute one! too easy, though
Good one, but it was easy you just have to read carefully
Good idea? It's a direct rip-off a well known riddle.

it was too hard.
Neat but eazy puzzle for a beginner like me
very, very good. I got it but it was great.
good one. This one may work better if said out loud instead of reading it.
the answer isn't "none", but rather "it depends on how many plum trees the farmer owns" (nowhere in the teaser does it say that the farmer *doesn't* own plum trees)
Cute.
nice!!
