Brain Teasers
In The Court Order !
Jen Rahlwitz was on another outing with her nephew, Forrie Agincourt. As the bus pulled out of the transit station, she leaned back, closed her eyes, and recited to herself.
"Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Jackson, Adams ..."
"Auntie Jen?" She opened her eyes.
"Yes, Forrie?"
"John Quincy Adams comes before Andrew Jackson."
"Does he, now?"
"Yup. We just learned it in school. The Adamses were the second and sixth presidents. Jackson was seventh."
"Who says that's the list I'm working on?" She had one of her "special topic" smiles on.
"Trapped again!" He thought for a moment. "Give me a hint?"
"The end of the list is Kennedy, Bush, Carter, Bush Jr., and Clinton."
"Still all presidents?" She nodded. "Kind of in election order?" Jen shrugged. Forrie thought for a while longer, and then gave up.
"It's the order of their birth dates." His face lit up.
"So that's why they're sort of in order!"
"But not all lists work that way. Some are in totally different orders."
"Such as?"
