I am seen through many eyes.
Even the blind see me.
Through me, nothing is impossible.
Many stories come from within me.
Time can hold still, or move at the speed of light.
The unthinkable comes to life in me.
I am a wondrous world full of life, or even death.
Love can rule, and hate fades out of the picture.
Peace can be found throughout and no wars.
It is within me where only I can control; no one else can.
I am a place that no one can take from you.

What am I?

Your imagination.

Posted by pretty-in-pink on Dec 02, 2006

samee heree i thought it was DREAMS!!! it can still work with that too!!! COOL TEASER!!!

Posted by vlerma on Dec 17, 2006

It is a great place, but I thought it was memories. Nice job.

Posted by vbguy101 on Dec 27, 2006

Yeah, lots of people thought "dreams"(even me), but what the heck. I think it was really interesting

Posted by grungy49 on Dec 27, 2006

That was a good'un, Suni! Loved it!

Posted by i_luv_2_read on Dec 27, 2006

top 10 woo hoo....good one....and i actually figured it out

Posted by bradon182001 on Dec 27, 2006

Nice teaser. I got it right, but I can see why dreams may come to many as the answer. Good job.

Posted by AbsurdHero on Dec 27, 2006

I didn't care for this one. Sounds like something a 5-year-old would enjoy, though.

Posted by coachpisco on Dec 27, 2006

Very good. I liked this one a lot.

Posted by katjojo on Dec 27, 2006

I liked this one...but, like the rest I thought of dreams.

Posted by Phalanx on Dec 27, 2006

Had the answer after the fifth line, but I really liked the way you described it! Great style!

Posted by Pizzazz2u on Dec 27, 2006

A Fantasticly Awesome Teaser! As one of my teachers in life told me, *growing older is mandatory, growing up is optional! If I want to act like a 5 yr old at times, I will. It is within *yourself*, the fire which allows you to be happy, grumpy, sad, loving, caring, beautiful, ugly, sincere, truthful, lying, silly, cool, and many, many more... Keep up the terrific work!

Posted by tpkarth on Dec 27, 2006

I also came up with "dreams" as the answer, but then reading it again where it says "It is within me where only I can control", I have to agree Imagination may be a better answer.. but then it's not just the dreams u see in sleep which u have no control, you can still dream things as u like even in broad daylight, right? that way, imagination & dream are quite synonymous...

Posted by enjaytee on Dec 27, 2006

I didn't think it could be dreams because you can't control your dreams. Sometimes I wish I could....

Posted by I_Write_Books on Dec 27, 2006

Good Teaser....easy but enjoyable all the same!

Posted by phyllisa on Dec 27, 2006

Nice poem, good teaser, I got it

Posted by lyndalee830 on Dec 27, 2006

I thought this was cute,I too thought of dreams, but your answer is even better...good job

Posted by deepsea on Dec 27, 2006

how do you know that noone imagines war. I find it hard to believe that no war is ever imagined, if it wasn't few would have started.

Also the idea for this riddle is wonderful

Posted by speedqueenkmw on Dec 27, 2006

I thought of "your mind". good one!

Posted by Trishgal on Dec 27, 2006

I knew it had to be imagination ,though dreams came to my mind ,it was just abetter fit. it is nice to get them so easily every once in a while . Great form , your description was right on.

Posted by Sunrose on Dec 27, 2006

I wish people would understand that the things listed can happen in ones imagination. Just cause I said that there wasn't any within the riddle, doesn't mean that there isn't.

I guess I expected more to understand that.

Posted by auntiesis on Dec 27, 2006

I also thought of dreams, and books flashed through my mind. Books in Braille for the blind. But then I thought imagination fits even better than the other things I was considering. Keep up the good work. I really enjoyed this one, and I felt good that I got it right.

Posted by krystalklearsky on Dec 27, 2006

good one I liked it a lot!

Posted by sand_rat on Dec 27, 2006

Very easy for me, but I need that! I never get the answers to the teasers. Refreshing!

I got this one right off. Really like this style of teaser. Keep 'em coming SunRose!

Posted by Sunrose on Dec 27, 2006

Thanks everyone for all of your comments and encouragment! That means a lot you all!!

Posted by Qrystal on Jan 06, 2007

Nice one! I got the answer pretty early, and entertained other answers like dreams and memories but decided in the end that my first answer fit best. It's fun getting riddles right! I think I'm getting better at them, thanks to Braingle!

Posted by mosca on Nov 11, 2007

I am many years more than a five year old, but enjoyed the teaser! The poem was very nicely done!

PS: I once went to a seminar in which the professor said you can learn to control your dreams!

Posted by kaaozz on Dec 28, 2009

I said mind . close enough ?

Posted by omas on Dec 28, 2009

I thought of 'book'!! This kind of riddle can have many possible answers...

Posted by emu77alu02 on Dec 28, 2009

Very easy, but it was nicely done.
This teaser made me wonder what a person- who has been blind from birth- imagines or dreams. What would it look like?

Posted by elentir on Dec 28, 2009

I don't understand how 'no wars' fits in with it, but otherwise it was fun.

Posted by Ginny_Potter on Dec 28, 2009

Really fun! I got it!

Posted by tova_l on Jan 03, 2010

Great teaser, I thought your mind.

BTW, people who are blind from birth can't understand the concept of color. Maimonides (the person, not the hospital or any other organization that might happen to be called Maimonides), who was a doctor, proved that.

But overall, very clever!

Found this one to be very easy, but oh so true. I have a very vivid imagination and wish sometimes I could turn it down a bit. Well, actually I do by talking aloud to myself, sometimes. It does get me back on track.

Posted by Jeppydog on Dec 28, 2012

Inspirational teaser! Thanks, I needed the pick-me-up. It is so true, that imagination is a remarkable thing that makes all of us free within ourselves and even doing a crummy job or enduring a bad home situation, our imagination can make life somewhat tolerable... and also, movies and TV are distractions that helps us deal with a sometimes negative world, and they are created through someone's imagination.

Posted by thecatladycac on Dec 29, 2012

Very nice teaser - I got it , but only after I read through almost the whole thing. No quick insights on this one! But I can Imagine that I will get one really quickly next time!

Posted by eighsse on Apr 26, 2016

This one is a little too sappy and cliché for me.
"Love can rule, and hate fades out of the picture.
Peace can be found throughout and no wars"
is a little misleading, since the opposite could be true just as well.
Good work, though; it's well written.
