Riddles are little poems or phrases that pose a question that needs answering. Riddles frequently rhyme, but this is not a requirement.

I come and I go, more than once in a day.
Yet I've always been here; for eons my stay.
A bearer of life, I bring fear and great dread;
A destroyer of old, millions by me are fed.
Artists and poets my presence inspires,
My moods, they are varied, my journey ne'er tires.
Once I was greater, but my time comes again.
Can you yet name me, my riddling friend?

First of all, as one poet to another I praise you for a verse well written. As for the teaser I liked it also although I thought more along the line of life and death. Your answer was very good. Thank you for a job well done.

The first line gave me the answer. This one was a no-brainer. I guess the "little grey cells" are working today.
