"Hello Detective, I am Jack Hansen, Elisabeth's husband. My wife was killed last night, while she was alone in her room," Jack said as soon as Detective Chloe Decker entered the apartment. Detective Decker moved through the room to see what she could find in the apartment, as the forensics report had not yet come.
Jack Hansen's wife had been living alone in her house since her husband had been off for a business trip for a few days and had just come in this morning.
"When was the last time you spoke to Elisabeth, Mr. Jack?" Chloe asked.
"The signal in my hotel in China was very bad, so I had not been able to be in touch with her for the past two days. I spoke to her only once after I had gone for the trip and she seemed pretty normal at the time. I just came back from the trip and opened the door with my key when Chloe did not open the door. I found the body. I don't know who would have done something like this."
Chloe then spoke to Elisabeth's best friend Margaret. She had lived next door to Elisabeth for two years and new the couple well.
"Hello Detective. I came in after Jack called me this morning telling me about the horrific news. I had spoken to her on Monday, the day after Jack spoke to his wife. She and Jack had been having some problems, and she seemed relieved that he was not going to be there for a week. In fact, two days back, I heard Elisabeth screaming to Jack on the phone. They seemed to be having a pretty heated debate." Margaret said to Chloe.
"You can hear her when she is on the phone, from your house?" Chloe asked, surprised.
"She was sitting on the front yard when he called her. She spoke to him in a heated voice for a few minutes before going inside the house." Margaret said.
"Oh okay. Did you speak to her after that incident?" Chloe asked to which Margaret said that she hadn't.
Chloe thought for a while and laughed. "I knew who the killer is.
