Brain Teasers
Walking to the Park
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
When leaving his office every day, Frank walks in short, waddling steps down the hallway. On the elevator he acts normally. Once outside he walks almost normally but takes an extra large or small step now and then. He crosses the street with wide, long steps. Once in the park across the street, he walks normally.

Can you explain this strange behavior?
Answer
Frank is superstitious, and he is trying not to step on the lines and cracks on the ground. In the office there are little tiles on the floor. The elevator is carpeted. A sidewalk has bigger squares so he can step almost normally. The street has big crosswalk lines so he has to take big steps. In the park he can walk on a path or the grass.Hide Answer Show Answer
