Brain Teasers
Eating, Laughing, Thinking, and Yawning
Twice the number of people eating equals half of the people who are laughing; if twenty people are thinking, and all of the people thinking are also all of the people laughing... and a quarter of the people laughing are also yawning, then how many people are yawning? How many people are eating?
Hint
It is a low level of math, nothing too hard. It just takes some thinking.Answer
E= eatingL= laughing
T= thinking
Y= yawning
E= 0.25L
20= T
20= L
E= 0.25 x 20
E= 5
Y= 0.25 x 20
Y= 5
There are five people eating and five people yawning.

Good Lord, some one must have given me a brain transplant. This is the second math teaser I have gotten the asnwer to today. Thanks for making me feel so smart.
Nice and easy, Just the way i like 'em
the trick is to keep only one variable- and use coefficients to represent other groups
ok... i dont even really like math, but i guess this one just popped into my head
fun teaser .. thought it was pretty easy. just solve for one answer at a time.
that was easy but written real well..
Good one, I like this kind, a math teaser where the real problem to solve is the language!
2 thumbs up!
2 thumbs up!
Good Job! Very interesting. I love making equations...that I know my classmates probably wouldn't be able to solve.
Not much of a teaser, nor much of a math problem. Obfuscation does not make a teaser. Just following the problem meant I already had the answer when I finished reading the question.
