didnt like that one sounds like it took to long to come up with to be interesting
The answer could have been 36 also
Actually, the answer could NOT have been 36 because, if two years ago she was a multiple of 6, that would be 34 and that is NOT a multiple of 6.
^^^ that is the longest sentence ever.
Anyway, this teaser was fun but easy. Actually it took me about a minute to figure it out. Good job!

The answer said 26.
(x - 2)/6 = (x - 1)/5
x/6 - 2/6 = x/5 - 1/5
And then solve for X or whatever.
(x - 2)/6 = (x - 1)/5
x/6 - 2/6 = x/5 - 1/5
And then solve for X or whatever.
You cant solve it that way, sane. The easiest would be to list down the multiples of 5 and 6. That would be 5,6,10,12,15,18,20,24,25,30,35,36,40,42,45,48 and 50.
Then look for a multiple of 5 which is 1 higher than a multiple of 6. Which are 25 and 24. So the answer is 26!
26 two years ago = 24, multiple of 6.
26 a year ago = 25, multiple of 5.

26 two years ago = 24, multiple of 6.
26 a year ago = 25, multiple of 5.
I just did 5*(6-1)+1 = 26. (Or equivalently, you could do 6*(5-1)+2 = 26.) That's going to get you the minimum possible answer.
Works for any two numbers x and y where the difference between x and y is one and the difference between their multiples is also 1.
I think it took about three seconds.
