The first names are: James, Ben, Vicky and Nigel
The surnames are: Jones, Stevens, Andrews and Best
Positions are: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th

excellent!
Thank you! This shows what the editors know. This one got 5 rejects and no accepts, then got posted, and gets a really good rating!
Perhaps if you were to add a kebab or two to the teaser it would get accepted better
you should see my next puzzle mad, the kebab-eating contest )
Wow.. lot of editor bashing here! I agree with the lack of editor intrest in the logic puzzles (which are my favorite btw), my logic ones took over a week to be approved and one was rejected with nothing more than a "we don't get it" comment... but don't bash them if you like the site... it's the way it works! If you can't beat 'em join 'em! Get up there and become one of the few logic-lover editors!
I just reached the 1500 points mark, another 1500 and I can apply to be an editor! Hooray!

bit too easy
Fun! Wasn't as hard! I love it!
Thanks! I don't like logic puzzles that are too long or hard, so I thought I'd write a small and (relatively) easy one.
Took me a while to figure out. Must've taken even longer to put it together though. Had a good time doing it, got all the answers right. It's worth figuring out.
Thanks. It does take a long time writing them, but it's fun, so if you'e got the time just try it. Even if you think you can't do it - this was my first ever one I wrote and it turned out very well. )
This teaser took a while, but by using Xcell or some other program it can easily be solved. Good teaser though! Took a bit of thought!
a nice logic teaser, good work smee!
Thanks timmy & palsha! BTW - ive now defected. I now know the truth - editors RULE
I got the answer with the first 2 clues, the rest aren't needed
like the teaser though
like the teaser though
wait nevermind, I thought it was only the places
Great Teaser, taking one of the games and making a teaser out of it!
Very easy, but sort of fun.
too confusing. think of one with other interesting vocabulary that gives you a big hint that is unexplainable!!
Top stuff Smithy. I got everything, except somehow I got Vicky and Nigel's placings switched around.
This was way too easy... no offense
One of the easier logic-grids out there, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. I love logic-grid. I think I'm the only one in my family that does. They all think I'm crazy or something...
Good teaser!
That definately made me use ALL of my brain!
Thanks for the compliments everyone! Maybe I will try to write another, harder, one of these soon
sorry but you gave way too much information away in the clues..challenging teasers are better than ones that tell you most of the answers in the clues
i had a lot of fun doing this the last couple of ones i have been doing has been really hard and no fun thanks alot.
This was a great one, it's the first one I completed and actually got right! I hope to see more teasers of this quality! Keep up the good work
Thank you hcut3 and kellgo! And oripoo, sorry you didn't like it but not all teasers have to be hard. Some people prefer the easier ones
added this one to my favorites. outstanding!!

sorry about that! i double clicked!!!!!
One of my favorites because it's fun!!!
very fun
Good fun and, yes, it was pretty easy for an adult puzzle, but I'm trying to find puzzles of a level suitable for early teenage children and the magazine ones are all way too hard, so it's great to find a site with such a variety of difficulty, and I think Cake Bake Contest is a great puzzle to start a Sunday morning with.
EASY, but perfect for someone who is just learning logic problems
Time expired and everyone got a pie in the face
good brain exercize it took a while and finally had to use the grid
I made a graph to figure it out!
Good job! :lol
Good job! :lol
i got the first 2 right but i messed up on the last 2. i don't know how.
new to logic puzzles, ended up figuring it out
I LOVE logic grids and the BEST ones are the ones that you don't need the grid solver to solve... like this one!! Loved it Smithy.. thanks!
Very fun!!! I got them by posting the first place (clue 5.) Then James must be second while Vicky fourth (clue 1.) and so on... Let's have more of this! Congrats!!!
Damn easy
did not take me much time
did not take me much time
Good job! I got it!
Yay, I got it!!!!
I love these teasers!!!
Great teaser!!!
I love these teasers!!!
Great teaser!!!
good!
It was awesome... i liked it
It was short and fun. Sometimes that's perfect after a long day. I see people complaining about the simpicity of the problem, but I have also noticed that there are usually very few comments posted on the difficult math and logic teasers, which leads me to believe there is some pretense in the derogatory statements made about teasers like yours. Keep up the good work.
simplicity
extremely easy and with that grid to help u it's like eating a piece of the cake that came in 1st.
WOW I LUVED IT!!! great job, going into faves!
dont know about all these "EASY" and NOT HARD things cause it was pretty hard to me but i did figure it out with the grid so thanks for that
This was a great teaser but you only included two last names and I had to guess who went with what.
This was great except it's illogical that fruitcake would come in first.
Doesn't fruitcake always come in LAST? Don't people usually re-gift fruitcakes or use them as footballs?

Pretty easy, but still a bit challenging. Good one!
Nice teaser. It was a fun one too.
I was actually lucky to get this. I couldn't know if Vicky and cheese or not. I just guessed and... yeah.
This one was pretty easy, but it was very fun. I enjoyed it! good job!
