Cryptography
In Cryptography teasers, a phrase or expressions has been encoded in some way (frequently by replacing letters with other letters). You need to figure out the encoding method and then decode the message to find the answer.Cryptography

Answer
The piece of text is from the original Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe and should read:I was born in the year 1632, in the city of York, of a good family, though not of that country, my father being a foreigner of Bremen, who settled first at Hull. He got a good estate by merchandise, and leaving off his trade, lived afterwards at York, from whence he had married my mother, whose relations were named Robinson, a very good family in that country, and from whom I was called Robinson Kreutznaer; but, by the usual corruption of words in England, we are now called - nay we call ourselves and write our name - Crusoe; and so my companions always called me.

Apparently the harder the teaser the less you guys like it
We need a Hint.
Maybe you could give what the first letter is represented by.
Maybe you could give what the first letter is represented by.
The first letter could only be "I" or "A", so simple trial and error help you decide which it is.
I like it Newf, great teaser

Thanks Mad-ade glad you liked it
Finally a great teaser that you could take time to work on! I like!!
I like it too. The first letter is either I or A, and since it appears elsewhere in the teaser as a capital letter in the middle of a sentence, it has to be an I.
1632 was obviously a year, and "in the year" fit the letter counts and letter patterns, so that gave some more letters.
And then there was the helpful "czqc" - I always look for a four letter word that begins and ends with the same letter, because it is almost ALWAYS "that" - go ahead, try to find another common word with that pattern!
Very good teaser. Thanks!

I liked it Newf because the cluse gave me a good start at it without giving it away!
I loved it just as much as i love Robinson Crusoe Very nice job with it, and don't be disapointed if there are some that just "don't get it" as it does require a pen an paper after all Keep up the good job and the teasers coming
